District Judge Doug Herndon issued a temporary restraining order this morning that will delay enactment of the anti-smoking initiative for at least two weeks. The new law was going to take effect Friday. Herndon scheduled a hearing to consider a call for an injunction on Dec. 19.

I have two more weeks to smoke!!!

Unfortunately the law was being challenged not because it banned smoking but rather because it is vaguely written and applicability and enforcement would be difficult at best.

But hey . . . a win is a win even if small and temporary.

Funny I figured they go into the New Year and try to grasp a few more tourist dollars in the mean time? Although I think that they already know this ban would have little effect on the "big picture" Bastards!!!

Well, two weeks gives those fighting just a little more time to defeat that ban for good. Good luck to you and congrats on the baby step, it's better than the alternative.

Judge could rule against the referendum, then it has to go up for vote again with different wording. That would be just the wake up call the voters need to rally against the new one. I'll be rooting for yall Vegas boys!
