USA Mens Olympic Hockey Team

What a bummer. The USA olympic hockey team falls to the undefeated Finland team today. Would have liked to see Chelios get a gold medal. I guess I'm rooting for Canada now, although the Fins and Slovakia will be tough to beat.

I think it was poor planning by whoever was in charge - Chelios is like 42 years old - he should have retired before this season - I think both USA team and the CANADA team had too much in the way of politics and good old boys network when they selected their teams - I am from PGH, and to not have Crosby on team CANADA was a joke - you are supposed to send your best team, not your best buddies - just my $ .02

I totally agree with you. There were too many good old boys on team Canada. They needed more players with speed too be able to keep up the European teams. Too many grinders and bangers and not enough skill, they were shutout 3 of their 6 games. That is a total embarrassment to Hockey Canada. I was expecting to hear Crosby’s name when they were announcing the team. One of the reasons they gave as to why he wasn’t on the team was that he was young and would have other chances later on to make it. Give me a break! You pick the best players to play, and Crosby is definitely one of the best Canadian hockey players out there right now!

I absolutely agree, time for the young players to get involved with Team USA and Canada. Crosby should have definately been there, and Chelios is way past his prime (and I'm a Red Wings fan). Not to mention the sub par goaltending and defense of Team USA. The lack of speed was also a huge factor for both teams. Even if the US got past Finland, the would have been smoked by Russia, Slovakia, or Sweden.
