Used/inexpensive welder.

Wife's son wants to build a go kart this summer, and I'm recruited to assist (which means build it while he watches it). I have plenty of scrap and parts, but need to buy a welder to do the assembly for the frame.

So, anyone got any leads on a used or inexpensive welder? I'm not sure how much use I'll get out of it after this project, so I'm not looking to buy top of the line.

You can get a Cambell Hausfeld(spelling?) wire feed welder fairly cheap.I got mine at Wal-Mart,but I have seen them at a lot of discount tool places.Cost less than $150 & will weld metal up tp 3/8" thick.Very easy to use & works on 120 volts.Will weld stainless & aluminum as well as other steel.

Sears sells a little cheapie welder for like 99 bucks I think. It aint the greatest because it doesn't take argon gas but it works

Blown away by your willingness, but yeah, thats a bit of a hike. Could prolly buy the little shit a built kart for what I'd spend getting to your place to build one. :sign: :sign:

Depending on the shittiness of the kid, building him a faulty go-kart could be the perfect opportunity to get him out of the way once and for all...
