Video Reviews: What programs/equipment do you use to create/edit?

Looking for recommendations on what programs/apps/equipment you use to create/edit/publish your video reviews.

After seeing Bill's contest, I really like the video review over the picture/post review and would like to give it a go. I consider myself very internet/digital/tech savy, I just need to be pointed in the direction of what works best to record/edit/publish the videos.

I'd like to have the capability to do some editing that allows to put text in the video and what not, with good transitions, and music clips if needed.

Who's got some good info? Paul?
 
I captured the video on a new-ish mac airbook.
YouTube editing lets you do the other jazz albeit fairly slow. Splice 2 files, cut out pieces, add transitions and music, etc. Once you do the edit, it takes a long while for youtube to process it.
Also, do any splicing before you do any clipping.
The upload on the Mac is also very slow. Mine only offered two resolutions, and a 10 minute video took about 5 hrs to upload.
My old Windows based laptop could capture lower, acceptable, resolutions and upload in less than an hour.
 
I have a new Macbook Air, got it about a month ago. Also use iPhone and iPad. If that information helps anyone. Thanks Dan.
 
I used an app on my iPad and did everything on the iPad completely for my video review. The app is called Videoshop, it cost 2 dollars, and it saved me a fair amount of headache. It's very simple (and I needed simple) but still seems to have some functionality (like loading my own songs, splicing video clips together, ect). It's not brilliant software by any means, but I was able to make a video and upload it all without touching my computer, so that's a win in my book.
 
I used Microsoft Movie Maker. Made it really simple. Only thing I didn't like is when fading in and out it would sometimes cut the speech/ sound and you'd get what you were saying clipped.
 
I also used Microsoft Movie Maker. Also agree to it being very easy and a no brainer to use, but yes, sometimes it would decide where it wanted to cut things out. That was annoying and could be corrected, but if you can get past that, should be no problem.

Same here. Once you use the program a few times there are a few tricks you figure out. You can make adjustments to pretty much anything.
