Vintage Humidor

Playing around on ebay, I found an old humidor:

I have no intention of buying this, but I sure do like it.

My questions: Will this old thing hold humidity? Will it have a good seal? Would you just have something like like as a display?

I like the slide outs, but I don't think it would seal well even when it was new.

Doesn't look like it would seal well at all, ever. But I guess would be an interesting display...if you have a circa 1860's room or something.

Def. a nice piece for the collector but not very useful as a humidor.

Technology has come along way since then... But it would make a great display for a collector.

It's hard to say whether or not it would seal. However, it's easy to say that is neater than hell! I'd love to have spotted that...not sure I'd have spent 200 clams on it - but it's a really unique piece.

If it really is 1860's. It is worth a lot more then that.
