I am currently watching the show on DIY network. They are building on outdoor cigar lounge. So far nothing too fancy besides a deck to smoke on. Anyone else watching this?

I blocked that channel soon after we got it. It gives TheWife© too many ideas for projects for me to do.

I don't get the whole "outdoor cigar lounge" idea. Isn't a deck sufficient? Did they put in a humidor and a TV or something?

No one missed much on this show. All they did was build a deck, threw some furniture and a cabinet on it for the guy to put his humidor in and called it a cigar lounge. I was pretty disappointed. Nothing as good as the episode of man caves where they made a indoor cigar lounge down in a guy's basement.

We have an upper deck and a lower patio, both under cover. The upper deck came with the house, and when we remodeled a few years ago we put in the lower patio (demo'd a small deck) and the arbor that covers it. Here in the PacNW it's been known to rain and it's just really nice to be outside, gentle rain falling on the roof, enjoying a smoke and a beverage.

Here's how the lower covered patio turned out:

...and the upper covered deck. This is just to the left of where the other pic was taken. Good friend Swissy and I are the two mugs in the shot:

It's almost never so cold as to make an outside smoke unpleasant. We sure enjoy our outside covered spaces.....

Cheers, guys - B.B.S.

I must have 2 outside cigar lounges since I have an upper and lower deck.

Edit: Make that 3, I forgot the back porch. ;)
