For a loong time. I haven't smoked anything for about 6 months, and the cigar I chose to break the streak was a double chateau SG. It was pretty good but not as good as I remember them being. I dunno if it was all that time off or if it was the cigar but I didn't care for it much. It was very spicy but that was just about it. It started off pretty spicy and kind of mellowed out a bit as it went but it was very bland...I couldn't really notice any straight forward flavors besides a spicy peppery taste.

Anyway the construction was very good. It was in very good condition, it even had a little plume under the cedar wrapper.

All in all, it was a dissapointing smoke for 9 bucks (cheapest price I could find in a shop in this area)

I dont think I would invest in any of these again, but maybe I might try the maduro wrapper sometime.

Wow...9 bucks a peice! :0 That is pretty pricey...the BX on base sells them for 4 bucks and some change a peice. I personally like the regular length chateaus a little better. They have a little more taste to them IMO...either are a good smoke though...try the Maduro. They have more flavor than the SG's.

Yea things get kinda pricey in the shops around here. I've actually never tried the shorter chateau's

Im out of em right now, but i had planned on picking up some on friday while down in Denver...if they have em(they were out last weekend), ill pick up a couple extra of the short ones and send em to ya.

Ive had a few people who were more than generous to me with the short time ive been here...just passing it along! :D

great smoke with 6 months to a year on it. I do like chateau fuente also, in the sg or maduro.

If you haven't yet tried the Chateau SG You should definately put it on your to do list. Had a couple the other day at the local B&M (got ripped on them...) They are a great smoke not as good as the Cuban Beli that AF has but still enjoyable fresh or with a little age.

I'd agree with KB that they're a bit better with age. Darn good smoke. Suggested Retail is $4.70 a stick, and you should be able to find them for a bit less than that.
