Can anyone explain to me how the scoring is done at the match play championship?
For example, the match between Mickelson and Daly, the writeup says Mickelson won 2 and 1.

That means that Mickelson won the match being up 2 holes with 1 hole remaining - in other words - after the 17th hole, Mickelson was plus 2 holes - they don't play the final hole since Daly could not catch him - if for instance it would have been 3 and 2 - you would be up 3 holes with 2 remaining - hopefully that explains it to you.
