Edit: Title corrected, thanks @bfreebern

Inspired by the cigar of the month thread, what was your own cigar of the year for 2025? That could mean different things for different people. Maybe it was the straight up best cigar you had, but maybe it was one that was extra special for another reason such a as a special gift, or maybe it was one that really surprised you in some way.

For me I'd have to choose the Por Larranaga Regional Edition Asia-Pacifico. It was sweet, bready, peppery, and had that "twang" in spades. Just a wonderful, memorable, delicious cigar.

I'd have to really think about it, and I'm sure this is going to sound lame.

But the best cigar I had all year was one burned with a good friend. I find that no matter how amazing or mediocre the cigar may be. If you have that good buddy with you it is going to be better.

That being said.
Likely one of these 2
This Boli started of pretty mild but built to a spectacular finish.

This Sinistro Mr Black was complex, full bodied and just really novel.

I love it, and that's just the kind of thing I was talking about when saying your cigar of the year may not necessarily be the "best" cigar.

It’s so hard to pick a cigar of the month. How the hell do you pick a cigar of the year ????

These 3 have come to 100 points on all the parameters including the total experience

1. Absolute dream of a cigar: quality, flavors etc.

2 This one is probably the most Cubanesque profile I had in years even including true Havana’s of all price ranges. This had the Cuban profile that I fell in love with when I just started smoking 25 years ago. JO. Talisman EL 17 Thanks @CigarStone for this amazing experience

3. Also a top notch cigar. But what is so special about this one is that Pepins cigars have gotten to a point where you know what you are getting and it’s consistent but not knock your socks off smokes. This one is his first cigar in 15 years that I could really feel that this was created by a master blender of his caliber. His best work in this timeframe for sure

Interesting thread! I like that it forces me to look back at all my old "todays smoke" posts and to check my notes to figure out what was my top cigars of the year (let alone remember them).

I would say the top reg. production cigar for me this year was the Tatuaje 7th Tuxtla, I would smoke those daily if I could.

However, in looking back there were two cigars that really stood out to me this year.
In May I smoked a Opusx Forbidden x 13 and it was amazing, for sure top 5 for me this year.

But I think the winner would be an outstanding CC I smoked with some outstanding friends @TexasTraveler over the 4th. A Punch Punch (2020 I believe) would be my cigar of the year. The creamy butter smoke paired perfectly with the Margarita's.

I do remember it being a great smoke, and it’s always better when you get to smoke it with a great friend.

‘16 Le Hoyo de San Juan - my first and an absolute mind blower. The flavors just kept coming. By the last inch I was wishing it was an A. I’ve been trying a lot of the newer fat Havana cigars these past two years because well, if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. This is the first one that has entered my rotation and the only one besides the magical Behikes that has really impressed me.
