Wine-a-dor Owners: Wire racks & Rusting

To Wine-a-dor owners,

I've read about the eventual rusting of the wire racks. I was wondering if anyone has gone ahead and applied/sprayed some type of protective coating onto them to keep them from rusting? Or any other possible measures to keep them looking brand new. I really like the look of the metal racks and would like to keep it looking stock for as long as I can.

I think it was about a year before the bottoms of some of the racks began to rust. I made a few wood shelves after that.

If you like the wire racks, you could probably coat them in epoxy to seal them.

just go get some suplicolor clear coat or lyrln clear coat, spray on and boom. done. Just make damn sure they are like 54534534% dry, otherwise your sticks will probably smell like spray paint.

Atleast, that's how i'd coat them.
