Zacapa 23

I don't have a lot of experience with good rum, but my local had this on sale recently, so I picked up a bottle. I had a few glasses and enjoyed it. It is finally getting warm enough to smoke outside here in Kansas, so I grabbed a DPG Cuban Classic and poured a glass of the Ron. Now I get it! The sweet molasses flavor really worked with the cigar.

Zacapa 23yr is a great rum. The Zacapa XO is also great. My personal favorite is El Dorado 15yr. It goes well with a spicey cigar.

Although I really enjoy Zacapa 23yr I still prefer Pyrat XO rum over the Zacapa. Perfect level of caramel sweetness yet complexity in flavor.
