Outlaw Event-Jorge Padron

I flew in to KC to see Outlaw for myself and was absolutely blow away by their place, customers, selection and hospitality. I will be going again to one of their events; too bad I missed Jorge Padron by two weeks. We have weekly events that draw 150 people; Outlaw has 1000 plus. That's amazing.

If your thinking about going, it's worth the trip.
Hey Eric, I didn't know you were on CP. Most all of us guys from the Outlaw frequent "The Pass". I live here!

Have fun guys... wish to hell I was going again this year!

I am starting to do the Pee-Pee dance!
I'm pretty excited about this, myself.

Any further word on Jack Stacks or other Friday evening activities?

I will be calling in a reservation for 9 (so far) for 6:00 PM.

Thus far the following people have committed to dinner:

simmsboard
sinnyc
tsmckenney
siriusstoogie
tasman
Brickhouse
LilBastage
Kevin (my brother)

It looks like Bsneed51 will join us later after dinner.

Unless anyone has any definite ideas I figure we can come up with a plan for the rest of the evening over dinner.

Hey! Any of you KC folks gonna join us for dinner?

All sounds good to me, thanks for setting it up.

Looking forward to it fellas!

Sounds awesome! I guess I need to get on the Google and find out how to get there from my hotel. :)

Edited to add: Which location are we talking about? It looks like there are 4. I'm not real familiar with the KC area, so it doesn't really jump out at me.

Just an update on my situation here. My wifes aunt passed away yesterday afternoon, and arrangements are being made today(she was very sick so this was not unexpected, and is probably a blessing in disguise). As soon as I know what/when they are I will update you guys. If the visitation does not end up being tomorrow night, I will meet up with you gentlemen probably around 8:30. If we can't come up with anything else, I will probably invite you guys over to my place. We can sit out on the patio, enjoy some cigars and drinks, and shoot the sh*t or whatever. Again, this is all subject to when the visitation is scheduled. I will let you know as soon as I know.

The Freight House location downtown.

I just got off the phone with Jack Stack. First of all they don't take reservations on Friday nights. He said that the closer to 5 we could get there the better. I called back to confirm that they allow smoking on their outdoor patio and they tell me that cigarettes are ok but no pipes or cigars.   Hopefully we won't end up with a long wait to get in. Any suggestions from you local KC people as to where we could go to smoke and drink after dinner would be greatly appreciated.

:(

I know the food is awesome, but is there somewhere else we could go where cigars are welcome? It's kind of last minute to change, I know, but we're going to be spending a fair amount of cashola at this restaurant.

I guess in this day and age it's inevitable that we would be unwelcome... :(

Yeah that sucks.

I'm still down for whatever, but convenience wise it would be nice to go to a place that can do all of the above.

Well, unfortunately KC is smoke free now, and most places had already put that in place prior to the law passing. Off the top of my head I can't think of any place that still lets you smoke inside, other than the Outlaw of course.

As to my earlier post, the funeral will not be until Monday for my wife's aunt, so I am in for tomorrow night after my kids thingy. I have a couple of your numbers, so I will call you when I'm done. I'm still trying to get it approved by the wifey, but since there are only going to be 7-8 of you, I don't think she will be to upset if you guys wanted to end up back here later that night for some drinks and cigars on the patio. My house is about 20 minutes away from both the Outlaw and the airport. However, if guys find something else that you would rather do I will be happy to join you in your outing.

That's a very generous offer.

It's too bad no place else has a patio or something. I'll try to get there by 5, but I can't guarantee I'll make it. I guess I could always leave an hour earlier...

FYI...the wife gave the okay to you guys ending up here if no better option presents itself, but only if, and I quote "you meet these guys and they aren't a bunch of creepy internet weirdos."

I think that means that Wyatt and Tasman are okay, but I'm not sure about the Minnesota wrecking crew. :sign:

snip....Hopefully I have a ride? :whistling:....snip

Hehe, yeah, you got one :)

Very generous Brent. I guess we'll see what happens and go from there.

I think your assessment is right on, you never can be too sure about those Minnesota fellas :D

I'm not an internet weirdo. I'm a whole other kind of weirdo...

I'm signing off now. The next time I talk to any of you will be tomorrow from the road or from KC! :D

It looks like I will be there for the day. Not looking forward to the long ass drive but I should be able to make it with some great Russian stories if I am in the mood and have been liquored up with enough good vodka.
