My youngest daughter, Melanie, is just finishing her latest stint as a make-up artist for a movie shoot in Wales! I'm so proud of her courage in chasing her dream and snagging it.

I certainly never thought her love of make-up would lead to a career! Stupid me!

Her filmography: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2012809/

She's only been at it a relatively short while so she's still struggling but she's doing what she loves! :)

OK, enough bragging about my kids. :D

Congrats on your daughter enjoying her occupation!

My daughter loves make-up too and I'll show her this thread so she can realize other's have followed their dreams irregardless of what mom and dad think is best for her!

That's great! I love stories like this. My kids are too young to do any chasing (barely talking) yet :)

Damn straight. Congrats to your daughter. Following your dreams takes courage, and tenacity. I always find it amusing how parents can tell exactly how future events will turn out when a child tries to follow their dreams. You would think with that sort of psychic ability, they would all be independantly wealthy.

Thanks for ALL your well-wishes!

Many's the time I told her to put the make-up away and finish her homework if she ever wants to make something of herself. :D Parents do the best they can but, truth be told, we're mostly shootin in the dark. Things have a way of working out sometimes.

I just hope her success continues until she's made enough of a name for herself that she has SOME work security and makes decent money.
