Recommendations for premium mild cigars?

Hi,

So, being a newbie I find I am really preferring to smoke milder cigars. What I have enjoyed most so far are the Carlos Torano milds.. Casa Torano, and the Decadencias. Someone in another thread said I should smoke better cigars. So what would you recommend that's better and mild or mild to medium?

Thanks.

David

Davidoff thousand series.

On a side note, don't necessarily let someone tell you to smoke "better" cigars. A good cigar is one that you enjoy.

David, brother bluue said it right, but to add and example, Fuente is considered one of the best smokes going. They make many vitolas. Each one of the vitolas are different from the other. To make matters more difficult, they make cigars for several other companies such as VSG and Diamond Crown Maximus. Those are different from their home blend.

Only you know what your taste bud is telling you. Most of us here agree on who makes a good smoke, but most of us have different opinions of where they fit in our enjoyment list.

If you have a local B&M near you, buy a couple of each that suit your size and cost requirement and start from there.

Hope you have a fun time finding the (right) smoke for you.

Torano is a solid smoke. Not my favorite, but you don't have to love a cigar to recognize crap from good. If you like them, smoke them. If I could find a dollar cigar that I loved, I would smoke the hell out of them. Mild cigars from Ashton (made by Fuente), Davidoff, Avo (Tabadom) , Fuente are all good smokes. Don't ever feel bad about what you like to smoke.

For what it's worth, the guy telling you to smoke better cigars was kidding. Taste is so subjective that one man's shit stick is another man's dream smoke. There is a lot of ball breaking that goes on here, I hope you take it how it's intended. And for the love of God, never, and I mean NEVER, click any of that guy's links. Ever.

Some of the most sound advice ever given on CP!

When I go mild I go Padron x000. Or Montecristo White.

Fuente will always be my first love though. So when in doubt, buy Fuente.

As for the cigars...try a bunch. Taste varies.

Try a Dunhill, light.
Try an Avo #9 or Heritage. Light medium
Try a Padron 26. medium to full

There's Fuente Chateau series and the Don Carlos for a little more spice.....and Hemingway for a little less spice.

Have fun!

Padron X000 or anything fuente!!!! would all be good choices. But smoke what ya like for now. And when they start boring you try something more pricier in hopes it gives you something more. When I first stated smoking I smoked nothing but onyx reserve and fuente curly heads lol. They were so good, now there just boring to me! (not that their not a good cigars though) and you know what, onyx may be a nice one for you to try. Not the priciest smoke out but not the cheapest. Mild to medium i guess good flavor for the most part.

Comacho Connecticut is probably my favorite connecticut wrapped cigar. Mild, but not bland or boring.

Rocky Patel Vintage '99 is a good one too, and the Edge Lite. Not as good as the traditional Edge, but won't leave you swooning.

The Casa Torano's are really good, so you already have something to compare.

Welcome to CP please don't forget to WHARRGARBL when finished with this.

First post in almost 2 years huh?

They don't seem to get much attention 'round these parts, but I have to tell you, I bought a box of AVO Domaine 50's and they are absolutely wonderful, mild cigars.

"Mild" being somewhat subjective, but they are really nice. I'd get a 5-er and give them a try.

Try using Acid cigars. They are good.

Using them for what?

Welcome to CP David!

Mild variety I can recommend is the Padron 2000 series. I find them to be very pleasing and cost conscience (my overprice LCS has them for $6).

It's good to take advice but as mentioned, everyones taste differs. One of my favorite smokes is the Perdomo Lot 23, while I read another member stating he'll never try one again.

Avo Domaine is a great cigar. I probably like the Domaines best from Avo's offerings.
I will say that I don't like the way they age. Hence, I never have any when the mood strikes. Damn, now I need to pick some up.

Wow.. thanks for all the great replies everyone. So far my favorite is the Carlos Torano Reserva Selecta. I got a box of toros and I am very much enamored. But its good to branch out to other makers so I will try the suggestions above. I am greatful for the replies. I am really enjoying my foray into cigars. Its a lot of fun on so many levels.

I just picked up one of those xicar tear drop cutters and a nice lighter. Tonight I stood out in the rain and, holding a glass of a really nice cab I fired up one of those reserva selectas and I bathed in heaven for quite some time.

Thanks again. Its really nice to hang out here. When my probation is up I look forward to getting into a pass.

David
