Hello Gentlemen!

The good lord has blessed me with another great day here at The University of Houston. I got lucky enough to buy a decent box of cigars for $15, but that only happens once in a blue moon. I was wanting to know from more seasoned smokers, what are some good cigar brands for a college students budget? I am already pretty broke as it is, but i LOVE to smoke cigars. All the cigar paraphernalia i own has been bought off of craigslist for next to nothing (including a CAO Black 100 count humi for $50 and a Danby wine fridge i converted to a fridgidor for $40) I have just been lucky that i have been able to find quality items for a great price! So, to yall experienced smokers what would be good cigars to buy on a budget. thanks!

A few offerings your range...
Padron 2000
CAO La Traviata
Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur Epicure
Perdomo Champagne Noir
Kristoff Kristania

Thanks! I received a box of La Traviata maduros for my birthday last year, they are awesome! I'm down to my last three.. :(

My favorites in that price range are

Padron Classic line (any you can get, really, but my go-tos are the 2000, 3000, and Londres)
AF 858 (natural and maduro both)
AF Chateau Sungrown
Punch Rothschild (or Connie #9 for a super-cheap smoke)

MMM has a point, though. If you can hold back and step it up to the next price level, you are looking at cigars that are as good as any you can get.

I may try that, i haven't bought any cigars from a shop since last month when i got a $25 groupon for $50 worth of cigars (good deal by the way.) So, i might save up more cash and go for some padrons and what not. =]

There are plenty of Padrons available in the $5 range. No, they're not 1926 or 1964, but you'll have a tough time finding a negative thing said about the "regular" blends. Like Nashkicker said, one of our members is having a sale right now. The thread is down in the vendor forum.

Thanks! ill check that out!

If you bump up by a buck or so, you can get into the EPC Core Line, and a few of his other blends too.

He has been doing great things with his blends recently imho.

And remember that buying samplers is usually choice over buying sticks as singles or boxed if your looking to save money. IMO.

Casa Fernandez Arsenio. They come in boxes of ten, keeping the price point to around 40-50$.
