Well It looks like I've hit my 6 year anniversary. Never knew what a ride I'd be in for when I signed up 6 years ago via a google search looking for some basic humidor info, and it's been one that I've loved every moment of. I've learned a lot and still have so much to learn.

Thanks to Rod and to all of you for making this place the wealth of awesomness that it is.

Quick celebratory contest:

Post what led you to find CP and the decision to join (just for interest/edification/anecdotal purposes) and I'll have my wife randomly draw a number between 1 and the last post number at weeks end and that person shall be the winner of a care package of some of my fav sticks.

Congratulations on 6 years! I think I kept seeing it show up in search results. After reading a number of threads, I decided to join.
 
Happy anniversary! I was looking on info on Humidors and also trying to get my friend some Camacho liberty series 2012...ended up getting a tower based on the recommendations of get as big as you can afford since you will fill it up quick and man was it right...
 
I was searching for info on cigars and the like and found this sight. If I remember correctly it was the only forum without popup ads.
 
I smoked a cigar at a local Salt Lake City bar, back when that kind of thing was legal, and the bartender started talking to me about cigars. He suggested I learn more here. I briefly looked at it and joined.
 
I hate to say it but like so many-" are these Cuban's real" post got me started. A BOLTL told me about CigarPass.

After many missteps, a lot of read more, trying to always add and the old adage, " if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all," I have been introduced to many great, kind, generous, funny and intelligent BOTL, who are willing to share knowledge and experience for the price if signing up, not being an asshat and being able to form a complete sentence with proper grammar and spelling. The latter being my biggest chore.

This is a great family and I have grown from becoming a member.

In October of 2010 I walked into my local shop and left with a the Tatuaje Face. I was very new to the cigar world and had no idea what I had stumbled across. I then became fascinated with the Monster Series because of my love for Horror movies/Halloween and my growing love for Cigars. A few months later I got on the Google machine and searched out more of the Monsters which brought me here. I immediately stepped on my dick by posting an ISO without reading a thing and I was put in my place. A couple BOTL here pointed me in the right direction and helped me learn the way. Ben(modo22) even sent me a couple Monsters to welcome me aboard and I fell in love with this community. I couldnt believe that he would just ship CP is the only cigar forum I visit.

Congrats on the 6 years! It goes fast doesn't it????

If I remember right, I stumbled across CP a few times just trying to learn more about cigars. After doing that for a bit, I figured maybe I should just join and see if I can learn more and become part of the community. Almost 10 years later, here I am.

As Paul kind of stated, I found this on a google search. Was also stuck in the Tat monster phase and this was one place to read all about them and so much more. I joined and never looked back. I only visit this community and don't have much need to go elsewhere. BUT the real reason I joined was because one night I was really horny and found Gary's avatar to be drop dead sexy (it was different then)....so I stayed around to enjoy the sights.

HA! I seriously almost just spit out my water. Thanks all for the wishes and echo you all, this is really such a great place. Loving hearing about how you all found CP. Seems most of us were in the same boat.

I was just getting into cigars, and stumbled into the Outlaw. Started bugging Smokyballs, OutlawD, and Outlaw SP with all my questions, and asking them for suggestions. They told me I should sign up on here, and I could find all the cigar knowledge I could ever want. After being on here for 2 months they told me a group of CP guys were coming to KC for the Padron event. None of those guys knew me at all, but they were as nice as could be, shared great cigars and booze, and spend hours hanging out like we were long time friends. I met some of CP's finest, like LilBastage, tsmckenney, JHawk, sinnyc, Swifty, simmsboard, gonz, Brickhouse, siriusstoogie, and several others. After that weekend I knew this was a place I wanted to hang around for a long time.

That remains one of the best times I've ever had. What an event, what a group, and some amazing cigars. Beans baby.....the Beans!
 
Congrats on 6 years.

I stumbled onto this board when looking around in the Internet. Id been smoking cigars on and off for 12 years by the time I joined. I started off on a couple other boards but never liked the vibe. After lurking here for about a year I finally registered and decided to participate.
 
Congrats on anniversary.

Brickhouse led me to CP. He told me to read a lot, don't ask stupid questions without doing research, don't be an ahole, and to not ruin his good name
 
I was curious if the Cuban cigars I had been buying were in fact counterfeit as I has suspected all along. A Google search led me here where I quickly posted my intro asking where I could buy real Cuban cigars at. Four months later I was camping in the woods and smoking the best cigars I'd ever had with about seven fellow CP'rs I'd only met online before. My wife said I was nuts............. Best bunch of guys I've ever known!
