Great, now that I got your attention...:p

I'm looking to purchase my first box of the year. Currently I'm torn between a box of Ramon Allones Specially Select, Romeo y Julieta Exhibicion No.4, Partagas 8-9-8, Hoyo de Monterey Epicure No.1, and Cohiba Siglo II.

Which would you choose, and why? Or do you have any other suggestions instead? Trying to keep it under $250 for now. Thanks!

I'd get the 8-9-8's. Only because I like them the best off the list. Your preferences may be, and likely are, different than mine.

Not Cuban, but I've played one on tv. Not really. I'd say go with the RASS unless you are picking up a hand selected/sorted box, which I would still say RASS, but RyJ exebicion No.4 would be a good pick if you like more fruit like hallucinations in your smoke.

I'd have to pick that list from a hat honestly. Too hard for me to choose. Maybe a slight edge on the Hoyo's.

Tough one. And my experience with cubans is medium, at best. I'm stuck between the 8-9-8 and the RyJ. If I was choosing any cigar, I'd go Por Larranaga Petit Corona.

If pushed to choose from your options, right now, I'd go 8-9-8 because I often enjoy thinner rg cubans more than the heavier rg.

Regarding the title question, that is when I suddenly go deaf, or I need new glasses, etc. Anything to NOT provide an answer.

Personally, I would go with the Epi #1's or the RASS. They are a great intro box cigar. I feel like the others are a step up in complexity. If I were the one choosing now, it'd be the 8-9-8's. But RASS and Epi's make great first box purchases.

Great thread title by the way, I laughed at work when I opened the thread.

I'd say the RASS for sure. Gotta be one of my favorite cubans recently. I'd also recommend the H.Upmann Majestics, which are generally on the small side (and low cost) yet have been amazing recently.

My only experience is with the RASS and the Cohiba so I say RASS.

RASS, only because they've always been an impressive cigar with consistent quality. The others are excellent as well, however RASS has always been one of my favorites overall.

Siglo II or 898, but for best value RASS. Hope that helps, as for your butt I can't tell from your profile picture!

On that note, I liked your original avatar better Bri. Seems like it would have a funny backstory to it.

It looked like you were hugging a Christmas tree and shouting.

Another RASS vote for me, but to my tastes it's a box that you need to lay down for awhile. I have a MUR JUL 13 box that's very good, but I think it still needs some more time.

I'd also suggest maybe a petite corona purchase instead... they seem to be ready sooner, again at least to my palate. Partagas Shorts are great right now, RASCC is great, and SCdLH El Principe is borderline decadent.

I've never been a fan of the RASS's, but everything else seems good. You might be able to swing a sampler from some FOB's before you commit to a box.

My three fave regular production Robousto's right this second (in no particular order) are the RASS, Epi #2, and the PSD4. Recent production has been pretty fantastic, I could easily recommend a 14 / 15 box of any of those. Last Epi #1's I got were 'meh' but that could be that particular box. #2's have been wonderful.

CoRo's are pretty fantastic too, but you pay for 'em.....

If you can find a AUM OCT 14 Party 898, these are amazing... If you are buying blind, and I have to choose from your list, I would go with the RASS, just because the 2014 and 2015 boxes are really consistent. If it were me, I would choose the Juan Lopez No 2, just stellar cigars... If you decide on the JL 2's, let me know, I can steer you in the right direction...
