Best Restaurant in Each State

Thanks for the list. I am going to fly to every state and try each one of these restaurants... I will let you know which one is the best.

There are some head scratchers on the list, but I can't complain too much since one of my favorite chefs took it for Missouri- Colby at Bluestem. I know he's going to give Gerard Craft in St. Louis a hard time about it, lol.

I'm not surprised that French Laundry was put on the top for California

Their choice for Minnesota is a good one. Fairly new, but excellent food, great atmosphere and killer service!

I sure don't agree with their Oregon choice. The one they mention features "Russian" cuisine (I guess that's what you'd call it). The problem with a restaurant like that one is that I assume they appeal to a limited percentage of the population. Not sure how you can call any one the 'best' because of the huge differences in ethnic foods, and tastes.

I live across the river from PDX, and know of several of the 'nice' places in town. The one they mentioned isn't on my list.

Frankly, in PDX, when I want the best of the best and am willing to pay for it, I'll make reservations here:

As they say....one man's opinion.

Interesting concept, but food is so subjective (just like booze and cigars) that a list like this is impossible.

I don't know, it's been at LEAST a week here in KC since someone got murdered during a "best BBQ" argument .:D

I'm a little disappointed they came to Texas and picked an Austin sushi restaurant. Not that I don't love sushi--Origami here in town is amazing---but the picture they took didn't even look like food, and seriously? Not Kreuz Market in Lockhart? Or Salt Lick in Round Rock? Or, for less brisket oriented fare, not the Mansion at Turtle Creek in Dallas, or Pappas Bros. in Houston, or Reata in Fort Worth? (I can attest to that last one being a magnificent dining experience!) And don't even get me started on the amazing Mexican and Vietnamese places here!

Tom, I was in Seattle a few weeks ago and went to John Howie, which I loved... The service and food were amazing...

Bill, if you're ever in town, we'll go to the Ringside on Burnside and you can taste the local efforts. Their in house aged New York cuts are simply fantastic...
