Lotus Digital Hygrometer Clicking

So I recently bought a digital lotus hygrometer and it worked fine for about a week. Then it just starts clicking and flashing over and over and not reading anything. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Have you tried installing a new battery - just because it was "new" to you, doesn't mean the hygrometer and the battery it came with hasn't been sitting around as stock for many moons since it was manufactured
