A few more for today and I'm out!





This one sticks in my head, for a lot of reasons. The main reason is because it was played over and over again, while us pledges were being hazed one night, at Oklahoma Baptist University. Damn, if they only knew what went on in that dorm. It's where I learned to drink and do other fun things 🤣

NIN is a band I didn't get into until well after their 90s heyday. Stupid metalhead high school me was too close-minded.

So, my very first guitar was a really cheap Harmony electric -- the same exact guitar that they played in either Peaches, or Lump, or whatever their first video was. I recall reading in Guitar World how the guitar was stolen, and he really missed it. I wrote to their management at the address on the back of their cassette sleeve (pre-CD, even!), and offered to give him mine if I could give it to him personally, but never heard back. Bummer.

TOOL... I just can't do it. Sorry. I tried. I wanted to. I really did. But, I think they are *still* on the intro to that first song all these years later. It's strange, because Undertow was such a great album.
 
We had Type O somewhere in this thread before. In high school, you were either a Type O Negative fan, or a Life Of Agony fan. You had to pick a side and die on that hill. High school was stupid.

Moody teenage me chose LoA




Here we are in 2023 -- Peter Steele is dead, and Mina (Kieth) Caputo is a transitioned transgender human. Life is strange...

This is a style that never really did it for me. Goth metal just wasn't what I listened to, so I might have had to pick another hill 🤣
