Humidor Stain Removal?

Was wondering if one of you here might know how to remove a stain from my humidor. I shut the lid and crushed a stink bug I didn't noticed was there. The bug guts have stained the cedar inside. I've tried a cloth and distilled water and that didn't work. I'm scared to lightly sand it at all because it is right on the seal. So I decided to stop and ask y'all before I make it worse. It is solid cedar, it's not lined like a lot of Amazon 40 dollar boxes. Any ideas guys?

You could try a little diluted bleach on a qtip, but there's the risk of discoloring the cedar. Maybe some appropriate wood oil applied sparingly would displace some of the stain. I'd likely make sure the bug leftovers are gone and not worry about it.

lol Yeah I think I'd rather just leave it as is then go down the bleach road. Might try the stain though unless someone has another idea.

That didn't work didn't hurt anything either though, but was a good idea.

peroxide works great for that. and dont stress too much about the bug thing — one sneaking in doesnt necessarily mean your humidor has an issue. ive seen it happen with pretty sealed containers just from bad luck or leaving a door open a second too long

Oh I know where the bug came from. I had the door open all night sitting on my deck and went in for a cigar. My humidor has motion sensor lights inside of it. I pretty much invited him in lol.
