I just wanted to add that although I felt a little mistreated, right after that I did a deal with another new guy (Seadub) and it went very well. He was looking for some sticks he can't get where he lives, I found them locally and rather than send him just 2 cigars, we added a 5-stick blind trade to our deal. We swapped packages, I sent him 7 cigars, he sent me 5 cigars for the trade and a MO for the 2 cigars I purchased for him....He rounded up the MO to the nearest dollar and sent me 5 very nice cigars. In the give and take of things, he kind of evened things out for me.

Hang in there Wilkey, what goes around, comes around. You've done a lot of good here and it can't help but come back around to ya!

Cheers,
Joe

Christ,

What a sad state of affairs. I'm fairly new to the boards but this and other recent situations have really left me at a crisis of the spirit. How the hell can one feel good about these communities when stuff like this goes on?

I'm at a loss.

You feel bad for a bit, but then you remember what a great guy I am, and it sustains you for another day.

Hey guys,

I really appreciate this site. I think i enjoy talking and reading about all these cigars as I do actually smoking them! (cause i'm a one or two cigar a month type guy)

I'm very new here but spend a lot of time on an Archery site called Archery talk. it is a site that has a couple of simularities with this one. They have a forum for buying and selling archery stuff. I know this isn't a "store" nor a place to sell and buy stuff, but it is similar in the aspect that there are lots of transactions with each other and you have to have a LOT of trust in the folks you deal with. Anyway, they have a board called traders feedback. (http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=18)
It is simply a place to post: Traded with so and so, fast transaction, quick money, A++ or not so happy with long transaction, material not as stated, etc.
it is simple and could possibly be modified for this site. just my .02 cents

Something very similar has been discussed in great lengths and it was decide it is not needed. If you have a question about someones integrity..... just ask another member.

Period...... end of discussion !!!!

didn't mean to beat a dead horse

Research is a tiresome thing, but it can reap rewards!!! Such as preventing one from inserting size 10's in a place only cigars were intended to go... ;)

I just posted to that link so hopefully no one will buy for him there.

I had nothing better to do, so I went and peed on his tree. Looks like Tone_NY lifted his leg too!

I don't think so, scooter.

There is very little in your profile. Are you a dealer?

I'd disagree...
It is kind of a lot of info on his profile to refuse any trade/sale

To each, his own. Before you buy, you might check the Trader link.

He has other issues, like being banned at another cigar site for trading gifted cigars.

So let the buyer beware Thumbs Down

Tone_NY

You are correct I should have stated selling instead of trading. I stand corrected, he was selling gifted cigars!

I don't have a problem with passing, gifting, or even trading a gifted stick. Mooching, then selling sticks is seriously bad form. Doing it CONTINUOUSLY, even after having been called on it is reprehensible.

Thanks Bruce, we have a record. Apparently it has been removed by the mods already. WTF ...

As TB posted all the comments have been deleted.

I sent the moderator an e-mail if they do nothing they deserve him. ;)

edited for typos

What a poor showing by the CW moderating team. When placidity is valued over the welfare of the community members only bad can result.

Nevertheless, it was a pleasant diversion from an otherwise boring morning on the packet ranch. FWIW, deleting a post for any reason should be RARE in a well run board. Here is what TommyBB-brain said:

Several long-standing CW Members have suggested that we institute this "Protocol For Outing A Bad Trader" for extreme cases to augment and support the current Trader Comments.

Please follow these steps:

1. Email a Mod or Admin with the situation. Include all pertinent facts.
2. The Mods and Admins will review the information and vote.
3. If yes, post the facts without personal attacks or innuendo.
4. No pile-on or drive-by posting allowed.
We'll do this Dragnet style:

Just the facts, ma'am.

Posts that do not follow this protocol will be removed.

So, George, Emo, have you heard of the outcome of the "vote" on your emails from nearly a month ago?
