So lots of BBQ requires lots of Wood! For the longest time I was always scrounging around trying to keep a good supply of Hickory and Oak. About a year ago I hooked up with this little saw mill out in the middle of no where here in NC. Its the old school type of place. really old machinery etc-except the loader of course :D

Anyways, this is a bundle of hickory I picked up this morning. Usually will last me a couple months. All that for $50 :whistling:

Hey Hillbilly,
As a non-serious smoker, read that as once in a blue moon, I use hardwood sawdust. Is that available as well? Tried to find some here locally, but everything I've found usually has some pine sawdust mixed in as well, and I just haven't developed the taste for "pitch", yet!!

My dad used to use Apple and Cherry wood sawdust for smoking. Oak and Hickory were a little hard to come buy in Washington. The Apple from what I can remember turned out pretty tasty.

I use apple wood sometimes when I smoke, It seems to work good. Good taste. I am not sure it gets as hot as the Oak and Hickory. Not that I really know what I am doing, but I try.
