Grilling

I have 36 drumsticks and a bunch of brats I am grilling up today for a few guests. Just got done making the honey bbq sauce for the legs.

Fired up the BBQ and cooked 3 AWESOME looking ribeyes, with grilled squash and "Naan" bread topped with diced tomatos, fresh mozzarella & basil & drizzled with olive oil.

Had a Sierra Pale Ale to wash it down...the wife thought it was awesome too!

I had a brisket in a chipotle marinade yesterday, threw it in the smoker 09:30
this morning. Sauteed onions, pablano, serrano, jalapeno, crystal and bell peppers and served in whole grain tortilla wraps.

Just finished dinner and pulling a Lusitania out of the humidor now.

Grilled Chicken breasts, and a green salad with olive oil/balsamic vinagrette dressing. For the kids, Hot dogs, and salad. Dessert for the kids was ice cream sundae's. My dessert came in the form of a couple of Michelob Amber's, and a nice RASS.

At the picnic I was at today, the kids were definitely acting like spoiled brats but we didn't go so far as to toss 'em on the grill. :0

I always heard Chicago was a tough town....

 The day went very well and we had great timing. No more that 2 minutes after I pulled the food off the grill it poured here for about an hour. Now it is beautiful again.

I'm going to be bbq at my friend's (who happens to be a vegitarian) aprtment in a few weeks. Anyone have any advise on what a good smoke would be to have with BBQ and while cooking? Or any bbq tips you guys may have. It's mostly going to be burgers and dogs

If you will be spending alot of time busy on the grill I wouldn't choose a stick that you haven't tried before. It is too hard to accurately formulate an opinion of it due to the environment (smokey, moving around, food, etc). I would go with something you have tried before and that you know you like, makes for a much more relaxing smoke, as you aren't trying to pay such close attention to it to pick out all it's characteristics.

good idea. I'll probably pick up a few of the house stick at my cigar shop or a tin of something. Although I'd like to have a bigger stogie I'll probably stick with one of those. I don't want to waste a RyJ or something while cooking

I swear, you guys are killin' me.

I'm sure that there will be a couple of BBQ's waiting for you when you get home...... where is home ?

Yeah, you're right, I'm sure I'll be getting some good "Q" when I get back, mmmm. Home is Southern Illinois actually, though I deployed out of Ft. Hood, Texas. We don't hold residence there though, family moved back to Illinois after I deployed.

BBQed Saturday, Sunday and yesterday. We BBQ everyday as long as it isn't raining. I don't have a problem grilling all winter either, just thrown on a winter coat and go in and out to it as needed. Plus, it gives me a reason to go out and smoke a ceegar as well....... :D

Now that is what you call hardcore. I think Bobby Flay would be impressed. :D
