I believe I've made my point. Jabba's "year 2029" was offensive to me in it's content, I made a comment (it hasn't been edited so you can see how tame it was) just giving him a heads up as to what content is acceptable in the Lobby, and our own little private PM flame war ensued.


For anyone who really wants to see the joke I posted, let me know and I'll send it to you. It's certainly over the top offensive, and by no means anything I believe in.
 
I have this crazy idea that the point is to make it clearer that threads that espouse or poke fun at political ideas might give rise to feelings that are best aired in different venues.
As a raging gun toting liberal high-tax promoting smoking ban opponent who believes in personal accountability, everything that anyone ever says about politics pisses me off, so let's all just keep it off CP, mmmmkay?

By the way, did you hear the one about the Rabbi, the Homosexual, the Pope, the African American and the Republican?

If you clearly stated the humour was offensive to you instead of trying to bring someone down by stating the above I would have immediately pulled the thread. The delivery is just as important as the message, you could have PM'd me saying it offended you in someway instead of making the situation bad by stating the above.
 
I read the joke and thought it was halarious. Jokes are called jokes cause your "joking", I've heard a lot worse than that. JMO
 
hey I understand if you were offended, maybe neither joke was meant for this website, that doesn't matter to me though. I don't get offended, I just laugh. :)
 
Now I feel left out... If someone gets a copy of the joke please send it to me. The more I read about how offensive it was, the more I want to be offended by it!!
