These are slowly but surely becoming my goto sticks, but I've noticed something funny about almost every 2000 I have smoked.

While the roll, draw and burn are almost always perfect the caps are almost always messed up. Either they are not properly attached and hanging off or they are glued on well but crooked.

It doesn't take away from the cigar, but its unusual to say the very least.

I agree, I don't know why Padron hasn't gone to the triple cap... oh well, can't beat them from under $3 per.

Please send me all your Padron 2000s so I can perform some quality control tests on the cap issue you speak of. You will receive my full report once they are all smoked.

Yeah, I would say that the caps and even the wrappers are sometimes a bit "rustic". But, always flavorful! I have a similar problem with another of my favorite cheapies, the Sancho Panza Double Maduro Quixote. The problem with those is that the wrappers tend to unravel when you cut the cap off .. a real PITA.

You are right about the caps, still a great smoke, especially for the price. Great quality and the best part is that they are consistently good.

2K maddies are high on my list of "go to" smokes and have been for some time. They are very consistant, and very good smokes overall. Put a box away for a year or so, and you'll have a smoke that is closer than you may imagine to the 64's....

Cheers - B.B.S.

Perhaps I should buy another to put down for a while. I have one box sitting in my humi that I have had for about a year. Maybe it's time to crack it. :D

Should I go for a larger smoke this time instead of the 2000's?

We asked Jorge about the cap thing at the event and he told us that he doesn't use a cutter to smoke his own cigars. He uses his fingernail to flip the cap off!

I like the padrons, but I like churchill, palmas, pantelas(my favorite) moreso than the xooo's. I've got a bunch that I've sat on for a couple plus years.

I like both the natural and maduro equal. IMO the maduro is better OTT and the naturals improve more w/ age.

seeing that these are 12 bucks plus shipping for 5 of them, I may have to give them a try.
