Hello all,

As I mentioned in my "introduce yourself" thread, I paid $20.76 for a single Macanudo Hyde Park Cafe and $2.83 for shipping recently (got hold of it to celebrate my imminent 21st birthday :) ), as I usually smoke Hamlet (standard cigars in the UK, get them in any shop, about $9 for 5 if my memory/£ to $ is correct :) ).. and at the prices "premium" cigars are in the UK I fear this will be my only experience of a cigar such as this.

I'm just wondering if anybody has any experience of customs/importing cigars? Trying to work out if it would be cheaper for me to find somewhere in the US that will ship to the UK and pay the duties when they arrive, or not.

Thanks for any information :)

Find a vendor that ships without bands and in a plain box. Ask the vendor to list the value as low as possible, say $40 for a box. This way you will probably pay about $30 in duty (guessing) for a box of 25 ISOM's - good value compared to the way they skin you in the UK.

There are some vendors that ship this way every day, just ask around.
