Be seein' yous guys

Congrats on the house that's bold move to buy without seeing it. As for the SS you should ask the coordinator when the cutoff is since he hasn't posted it. One would assume the 25th but I thought it was later last year.

Well, like I said, my mom is very picky and, in all the house hunting after the first builder I was working with screwed me, this was the only place she saw and said "I really like this." So I have hope. It'll have a 1 year builders warranty and my mom was able to pick out carpet, colors, fixtures, appliances and the like. Really, I spend so much time on the road all I need is a place to surf CP and lay my head at night and after 10 years of dorms and base housing... well, it can't be worse. I do have pics she has emailed me and it looks like it's coming along great. It is a split floor plan, 2086 sq ft, open great room w/ dining and breakfast nook. Bonus room above the garage. I'll get pics up of the finished house when I get home.

As for SS, I PMed NorCal so we'll see what he says. He posted a "mail packages by 28 Dec" message so I think I have a chance.

Take care mate and have a great day.

Well, I got some good news and some good news.

1) I'm a homeowner. My mother closed on 1 Dec on my behalf and now all I have to do get home and find the house <grin>. Here are a couple pics taken before closing. I'll try to get a couple more posted after the 1st of Jan when I am actually living there...

2) If all goes well, my replacement shows up and the plane isn't delayed, I'll be home the evening of the 15th of Dec. It sounds close, but still feels far away, so I'm not counting days yet. Thaks to everyone for the well wishes on my fairly short 90 day rotation. Just think though, I probably get to do it all again in a few months.

Congrats again, now you have to get all that homeowner stuff like tools, yard equipment, mower, edger, extension cords, ladders etc etc. It never ends :)

That's for sure!! But one thing he'll rarely need is a snowblower!

That's one piece of equipment I was glad to leave behind!!

Well, the replacement is here and mostly trained. As long as weather cooperates I'll be spending next weekend in the US. Thanks again to everybody for the help and support while I was out here, now I only have to come back 4 or 5 more times over the next few years <grin>.
