Okay so I got a HD TV last Monday and haven't even had a chance to watch it until today...

Well after watching a HD channel I had to break down and get all the HD channels. WOW is all I can say. I had heard that HD lives up to its rep but I took that to mean well its a nice picture. GEEZE it is unreal I must say I am blown away. Stunning is an understatement. The HD discovery channel might just become my favorite...

Well anyway ya'll have a great day..

Discovery HD is good but nothing better then ESPNHD!!!! Sports in hi def is awesome!!! Just wish I could get FOX in HD.

Just a little warning bro... You can't ever go back now!!! ;)
I had to get a smaller HDTV for my bedroom...

HDTV IS AMAZING!!!

Well after all the research panasonic seemed the way to go. They were Consumer Reports top plasma the past two years. HP was this years but I wasn't impressed. It was either the Panasonic Plasma or the Hitachi. The latter had more features, Picture in picture and a few other things, bascially they had to add more to compete. The prices were the exact same, but I went with Panasonic 42 inch, it was the right size for our room. If you want more features go with the Hitachi, I am happy with the Panasonic. Pioneer makes a great tv also but it was a grand more. If you want more info PM me and I can shoot ya the Consumer reports list of TV's...

We got a Toshiba DLP HDTV in the 56" flavor this year, and I agree with you. INHD does a show in the AM called "Sunrise Earth" with HD pics of sunrises and scenes from around the world. Just fantastic...!!

Oh, my neighbor is a NASCAR nut and he's been after me to invite him over on a Sunday to watch the races. Very cool...!!

Cheers - B.B.S.

Shooter you bought the right one. I bought the Pan plasma in 42" last year. It is a sweet set. This year I bought the Hitachi 32" LCD it to is a sweet set but the picture on the Pan is brighter and better. Good luck with it bro.

We started the HD package a few weeks ago........It was a great addition to the home theater sound I was already enjoying. I wish ALL channels were available that way. I can't seem to get away from the DSC-HD channel either. HD is the ONLY way to watch football.........

I've been playing with my new media center PC all weekend, I ran out of HD connections on the TV to connect to so am stuck with s-video. Then yesterday the digital widescreen monitor arrived :D, now I need to get HD to my PC .... oh and a Shark to celebrate.

BTW, I am so hooked on HD

OK. guys quit rubbing it in, I am going to have to wait until after Christmas....Been wanting a new TV for 3 years now, but somthing always comes up(New Car, New roof, Catholic school tuition)but will do it then I will have to decide to keep the satellite or go to cable...

HD is awesome. My Dad got one last year and we got to watch the Stros play in the playoffs last year on it. Congrats. You'll enjoy it.

I agree. HDTV is the way to go. Celebrating my three year anniversary of buying my set next month. Was quite a nut to come up with initially, but I have gotten so much enjoyment out of the set. ESPNHD is incredible, but as a golf fan, watching the Masters in HD with no commercials may be my favorite aspect of the TV. However, the nature shows on Discovery are incredible. Also, the Beaver IMAX movie that is on the INHD channels is amazing. If you are considering buying one and have the means, do so ASAP - you will not regret it.

It's hard to watch non HD. These days majority of network shows are in HD
and it is getting better. I am also always looking for movies on Showtime and HBO to record in HD

Unlike David, I went bigger in my bedroom - 50" Panasonic.

My first Panasonic 50" in the lounge I bought 3 1/2 years ago for $8,000,
they have come down considerably now.

I still think that Panasonic make the best Plasma's, they are what,
maybe 6 or 7th generation now, whereas Sony is probably 3rd!!!

Nice!!!

Well now I am trying to find a wall mount unit... any suggestions..
Depending on what kind of bracket you need/want, have you looked at any of the cantilever brackets? There are options for you which can extend the flat panel outward, tilt and move left and right. Omnimount makes a nice bracket and you may want to do a search on a company called Cheif mfg, they have some cool recessed brackets which give you a flush mount look.
