I am curious about something.

How far down do you smoke your average cigar? I am not talking a fine cigar or a review smoke, but your everyday, average, go to smoke.

I find myself smoking about 75% of a cigar before I call it quits.

How about you?

I voted 'down to the nub' but it really depends on the cigar, my mood, time constraints etc. There are definitely times where I only smoke 2/3-3/4 of a cigar, especially a big vitola like a churchhill or huge ring gauge cigar.

I agree, way to many variables to give a good vote but if I have to average it out I would say 3/4 of the way.

I guess I read this question differently than the rest of you guys, I answered this as how far do I go when a cigar is worth nubbing. I generally smoke cigars that I already know I like so they are just getting older and getting better. So I often have cigars worth taking down as far as possible.

Very often, especially lately with some SCDLH's I have been taking them this far

Mmmm Mmmm Good to the last, lip burning few puffs.

I smoke until I'm done ;)

Basically whenever the cigar starts geting harsh/bitter. Usually that is a little less than an inch, sometimes more sometimes less.

:) The cigar is a big factor in how far I take it. A premium goes to the nub like it or not. A lawn cigar can be disposed of at any course during the smoke. :p

Just as some of the other guys have said - it depends on the
cigar. Some may not taste great in the last 1/4, some I have
trashed half way.

CvilleYoungGun - the question is not if the cigar is good. I
would assume most people nub a cigar if it tastes good down
to your fingers.

Oops, well I still explained that in general I smoke cigars that I know I am going to like. Last year maybe my answer would have been different, but ATM I very often burn my fingers and lips because I am smoking a really great cigar.
