Question for you

I'm not trying to be overly sensitive, but there are a myriad of circumstances (all of which are unknown to all but those that were there) in which the guy who got killed could have been innocently standing around and NOT known what was going on.

If he was standing around hooting and hollerin', then yeah, he's an idiot. If he was standing with his back to the fire engrossed in conversation, he's a victim of circumstance.

Either way I don't think he deserved to die. Maybe my sundress is billowing again...I don't know.

"This is a certain tragedy," said New Milford Police Chief Colin McCormack. "However, nothing I have been apprised of to this point in the investigation...indicates a deliberate act on anyone’s part."

Police did not release information on who tossed the keg into the fire.

Translation: The kid who did this is related to a "person of power" in the town.

Now THAT I can find out about. ;) Lemme work on that and I'll get back to ya.

I sure hope no one tool my comments to mean that he deserved to die. :0 While I will agree that "we" were not there and don't know the actual circumstances its not a stretch to connect the dots towards a bunch of drunks doing stupid stuff more so than it is an inocent bystander in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I'm sorry, going to be hard to believe that anyone would be standing around a fire out in the cold at 3am in the morning with a keg in the fire and not know about it..... possible but doubtful.

Again, condolences to his family!

I apologize for the implication in my poorly worded response to this topic. You most certainly never said that and I don't think you (or any other decent person) would.

From the stories I've read it appears that it was a 1/4 keg and it was thrown into a burn barrel.

I wonder if the public will ever learn who the tosser was?

Been a weird coupla weeks around here.

-Rabid Coyote attacking people in Washington ({It's since been killed).
-Suicide in a nature preserve in Roxbury.
-Keg blowing up and killing a kid.

Hopefully we'll get a break for awhile now.

As far as the keg blowing up, according to the stories I've read, it was sitting in the burn barrel for 2-3 hours. As far as I'm concerned, anyone who knew it was there shares some of the responsibility for what happened.
