How to kill all cigar smell from the room during the night?

Its getting really cold in the evenings so balcon smoking is over at all. Altought my fiance really like my cigars she'll be unsatisfied if in the morning she smell cigars smoke and I'll have to cook diner myself.

So, are there any resolutions to make room fresh in the morning besides leaving opened windows for whole night? ;)

I can put a 'room-fan' on the windowsill, but its to cold to sit by the wide open window.
I can fire up 10 candel's in the room (highschool way ;) )but I dont really believe they eat smoke
I can buy some cheap "table-standing-smoke-eater" but here I also dont really believe they eat smoke

Any clues?
 
I smoke in my house all the time. My advice is to not discredit the smoke eater candles or any scented candles for that matter. I almost always smoke in my living room. I shut down all doors to other rooms so that the smoke doesnt disipate over the entire area of my townhome. The setup is so that the living room, kitchen and stairs to 2nd floor are all open. I usually light three regular scented candles and place them spaced out in the living room. After I smoke I routinely spray down the entire open area (again, kitchen, dining room, staircase area) thouroughly with just any type of aerosol such as glade or whatever. Its always best if you can crack a few windows from time to time, but if you spray down the entire area, using about half a can in my case, you usually will not smell smoke the next day. I usually pick up the spray airfreshners at whatever grocery store has them on sale. Usually a buck a piece. I figure if I am spending anywhere from $3-20 on the cigar, certainly 50c to clean up afterwards isnt too bad.

Try it, you may be surprised. The combination of candles and then knocking down the smoke with the aerosol seems to keep my place pretty odor free!
 
Damn - I could never get away with smoking in the house. I think we all need to go to ATUCK's house to smoke. :whistling:
 
I smoke in my home office, it's a small room approximately 12 x 11.

First thing I do is shut the door.

Then I open the window and put my jet fan in front of it, sucking air from the room and pushing it outside... I just run the fan on low (for a few minutes) every 20-30 minutes. I also have an Ionizer which I turn on while smoking, it also seems to eat a lot of the smoke. When I'm getting near the end of the cigar I light a vanilla scented candle (these seem to work the best) and I let it burn for about an hour after I'm finished.

This setup works well for me, it's not perfect and you can still smell that someone has been smoking cigars in the room, but that is fine with me. The bottom line is... no matter what type of setup you have there will be a lingering smell afterwards. The key points are... seal your smoking room off from the rest of the house, get the smoke out of the room at efficiently as possible, and fill the air with another scent afterwards.

When I first started smoking cigars inside I told my wife that we work our butts off for a house to be comfortable in so why would I freeze my ass off outside while I'm enjoying a fine cigar... she thought for a second and said... SMOKE AWAY and enjoy yourself! Make sure you get a wife/girlfriend that supports the things you like or you're in trouble.
 
Good advice on this thread. I have started smoking inside as well (very sporadically). I generally crack open some windows, light a fire (a lot of the smoke goes up the chimney), light up some candles and get the hepa filter running. It works pretty well. The fire heats the place up a bit too, so the windows don't bother me that much (right now). Not sure what I will do when it starts to get even colder.

I don't like the smell of stale cigar smoke in my house all that much, so I try to do my best to minimize it. My wife has been surprisingly okay with it, however.
 
Winter is the time to frequent those local tobacconists with cigar lounges that we have been neglecting all summer. If you buy from them on a regular basis they will generally let you bring your own in some of the time too. However, it is always a good policy to inquire about this first.

No somking in my house EVER . . . so out on the patio I go when not patronizing my local shop.
 
I smoke inside all the time and leftover smoke odors seem to go away in a few days on their own.

I have never smelled in my house or anyone else's (clean) house the catastrophic effect of smoke people seem to be afraid of.

In fact, if I had to list strong house odors that have offended me in peoples houses, it would be limited to pets and cooking odors, not smoke.
 
People are so anal now-a-day. I remember growing up everyone use to smoke in their homes.

Ditto. I have a huge central house fan that draws air into the attic it is two and a half feet in diameter it will cycle the air in the house in about 4 mins. So it is great for a summertime smoke, but in the winter I smoke in the basement. Hopefully in the next few weeks I will my office converted to a smoking room.

As for the smell the smoke smell that lingers in my book is cigarette smoke. I smoke cigars in my car all the time and can never tell except for the film on the windows. My wife smoke cigarettes in her car and it reeks.
 
I have a smoking/computer room and smoke a couple of cigars a day in it. I put in a bathroom type exhaust fan in the ceiling. I use a candle while smoking and I spray the room with Oust Air Sanitizer (available in most supermarkets). I think it works very well. I plan to purchase an ionizer soon to help keep the smell out of the furnihings. My Wife has asthma and never complains about a smell in the room. Not that I let her in to often. There is nothing in there for her just cigars, my herfo-lounger, 1 large humidor, 1 60QT.coolerdoor, 2 100 cigar desktops and soon a copper lined antique humidor stand (when I finish refinishing it) and my handgun collection.
 
Michal, most restaurants in Poland still let you smoke cigars if you ask - my advice is to grab a bit to eat and finish it up with a smoke. There really isn't a way short of an expensive filtration system to get rid of the smell.
 
maybe the air purifiers would help. although I don't have one since I smoke outside, so I won't know how efficiently they work, plus they aren't on the inexpensive side.
 
Thanks for clues, I read them all, and I think the best way will be some " candles-air'spray'refresher-fan-opened'window " combo :)

Yes, but what about smoking in the evening after work? I dont want to drive 15-20 everytime I want to smoke. Restaurant way is really occasionaly :)
 
I use a medium size air purifier and crack the patio door every now and again. After i'm finished i light incense(sp?) or use a plug in. A few hours later there is NO smell. I live in a town house
 
I crack a window and use a Csonka. I let the Csonka run all the time and it works very well. I give a couple of sprays to the furniture with the Pure Ayre for good measure.

Works like a charm and keeps the wife happy.

This is very obvious but I can't believe how few people actually do it.

After you finish your cigar, through out in the ash / trash OUTSIDE. I sit there in my brother's living room, reverse fan, windows open, room of wood and leather - and after we finish smoking, no one even thinks of dumping the cigars outside. I guess the reason being, no one wants to get up after a fullfilling cigar with a drink in one's hand!

It also saves you of the nasty - dead cigar smell.

What is a Csonka, an Ionizer?
 
Nothing you do will stop the smell totally,but the advice above will help lower it being to noticable.

I never smoke(d) in the house,even in cig days,I just hate that stale smell on my cloths,curtains,furniture,rug....etc etc.

Ozium works the best along with a ioniser in the car,so long as you dont have cloth seats....but,it seems when returning to car in the morning,I can tell someone smoked before.
