Any brave souls heading out early for the big sales?
I'm thinking about it. :0 I am going to replace my desktop with a laptop, and there are some pretty good deals going on!

Found this showing most of the sales!

Also, any advice on laptops?

I've been a BFADS member for a few years. Great way to plan out the shopping.

As my first whole day back to the states, the wife, kids, and I all went to an IKEA grand opening in Austin.

Not a good first day back, ROFL! Holy crap was it packed! I was all stressed out, lol.

I'm not good at all in large crowded shopping areas. So probably a no go for me on the black Friday, hehe.

....black friday? David, are you loopy? Crowds, pushing, shoving, yelling, crabby old ladies....NOT!!!....

Sometimes the wife and her daughter have "targets of opportunity" but I hide, big time and eat leftovers. I believe that "BF" is a very good day for a pot of great coffee, a fantastic cigar or three, leftovers, and some movies.....

Hey if you enjoy it, go for it, but it's not my cup 'o joe..... :p

Cheers - B.B.S.

My wife gets into it pretty big. She will map out a plan with friends, they will go to different stores with lists and round up itmes. One year some lady got in a fight with her over something.....my wife won. Me, I don't get into that, I just sleep in.

-D

The wife and I will be in line somewhere at 6am on Black Friday.

I'll be standing on a beach with a fishing rod in my hands, a cigar in my mouth and a bottle of Evan Williams waiting at the house. The only shop I will even venture close to on that day is a bait shop!

2 of my sons work in retail. My mother is in town, so she and my wife will most likely hit some targets of opportunity. Otherwise, I'm with BBS, leftovers, beverages, and some good smokes.

Wyatt.... welcome home

Next time you head to IKEA make sure you stop in the restaurant. Get the Swedish Meatballs... I'll actually go there sometimes just for lunch (damn, I'm a loser...LOL)

I will be among the craziness on Black Friday. My wife voluntells me I am going every year. My wife is only 5'2" on a good day, so my being 6'1", I get to push my way through everyone while she hides behind me. So, if anyone gets pi$$ed, it is at me, and not her. Usually makes for a fun day.

Same thing here. Craziness happens during these shopping days. I've seen several fist fights break out in lines when someone jumps ahead.

No, brother, you are not alone. Everytime Laura and I go to the IKEA in Pittsburgh I insist we stop in for lunch. Or that just makes me a loser too!

*shivers* I worked at best buy a few years ago during black Friday. Never again. What I found amazing is simply how ridiculous people can get, as if they didn’t know they would be waiting in line for 1-2 hours. Now I’m the guy sticking up for the poor clerks when people act like jerks.

I'm going out to work... thats right, work. Although I would love to capitalize on the deals of Black Friday madness, it amazes me that people are willing to line up at 2:30am, 5 hours ahead of store openings at numerous outlets across the U.S. Yesterday, people were already lining outside for the PS3, and I was thinking to myself "Damn, I earn a living". Not saying that people getting in line for an awesome deal or an early release of a product is bad, get while the getting is good, but this early stakeout for shopping and spending money is getting out of hand.

In the end, I think I am just jealous that I can't be one of those guys waiting in line for a good deal at the Woodbury Commons Outlet during the middle of the night.

Not my thing. I don't really enjoy crowds of people and the craziness that often comes with said crowds. I get anxious in the post hockey game crowds! ???

I know, I'm a wuss. I grew up in farmland and I need space.

Speaking of the PS3....god bless anyone that got there hands on one. People in my neck of the woods had been sleeping in tents since early Wednesday to get their hands on one of these....apparently it was worth it. I just took a quick peak at E-Bay and they are selling for over $9,000 on there. Not a bad return for a $600 investment.
