Well, I got the Best Buy ad online, and once again they have some insane deals that I'm going to be looking into today. My wife thinks she wants to get to the store mega-early and get a couple of the really big money savers, like a complete computer for $189! And looks like there's some screaming deals on a couple TV's, and loads of DVD's for $2-$3.


Anyone else check out the ad yet, and have opinions on whether or not it's worth the hassle?
 
I used too go - just to people watch and enjoy the stress of others!!!
Now - not so much!

I've never been one for hitting the stores during those huge sales, I just can't stand the crowds anymoe. I try and do most of my Christmas shopping either online or at specialty shops.

Well, I wasn't going to. But now that I've looked at the Best Buy web-site and found a Toshiba Satellite on-sale for $249, I might have to. We don't have a computer at the house since the monitor on the last one went 3 years ago. I take my company laptop home every night, it would be nice to have our own. Is getting there for 5AM, worth it though? We'll see.
 
Well, honestly I'm no schill for Best Buy, in fact like most folks I've had my issues with their lack of customer service and just plain lack of skills and knowledge among the employees, but these prices are worth the hassle.

And here, the store opens at 5am, but I told my wife if she really wants one of those screaming deals on limited inventory items she better plan on getting there much earlier! Five or six years ago I tried to go when it opened just to see what it was like, and I showed up 15 minutes before the doors opened and could not get a parking spot! I wonder how many shootings and fist fights there will be this year...
 
The wife and I will be braving the cold weather and crowds on Friday morning.

I was going to sleep in a little on Friday, and go to work a little late. Now it looks like I'm getitng in line at 4 in the morning to get one of the 5 50 inch plasmas that each store gets.
So, you have all seen my requests and questions on TVs....is that one decent? I know it's not 1080P, but it's a 50 inch plasma for 1700 bucks....it can't be a BAD tv, right? RIGHT?

When I was younger a buddy and I would go to the mall in Green Bay on Black Friday; not to shop but to Cruise Chicks. Since it's Deer Season in Wisconsin the only people in the Mall are women..... and lots of them....more than normal for GB; they come from all over. Then we'd go to the bars and well I've never seen such a lop-sided ratio (at least in GB that is). Oh the fun times we had...... :cool: :cool:

Now I avoid the stores like the plague......all year long. Thank You Internet.

We're looking at that 50" Plasma as well, for the price you can't really go wrong. However while looking we found THIS one, which isn't in the flyer (kind of a secret only advertised online deal), which is a 42" and looks to be better quality than that 50".

Since this isn't going to be our "main" tv, I think it might work.
 
The only time in the last couple of years I have been was to go to the Galleria Mall at 1AM and see my friends band play at one of the department stores for an hr...since then they have been Nationally signed and I don't see that crap happening again...I feel sane...so if it isnt a small store, I won't be there...and WAL-MART? you can kiss that off...I wouldnt go to that store if it saved my run-over battered life...so you can see where I am going with this...
