Started hiding money to support the habit

The secret to having money for cigars is easy. Take up a more expensive hobby then just cut back to cigars. I started talking to my wife about a '68 SS Chevelle and now I can have all the cigars I want. : )

funny this came up too, after dropping $600.00 on the wife for christmas last night...$200.00 of it in Victoria's Secret. My wife has really never hassled me about buying cigars...and when she does, i remind her of the nasty shoe habit she has. that usually puts her in the proper frame of mind. like wyatt said, as long as boxes aren't arriving every day, there is no problem.

So, after 10 years of marriage and being tired of defending my cigar purchases, I started putting money aside in a safe and hidden place to save for cigar purchases. You know, things like taking a few bucks extra out of the ATM. Okay, it gets a little tricky to try and explain when a package arrives but I do a lot more purchases around the holidays when it's easier to hide. Otherwise, I just hit up the local b&m with cash in hand.

I'm afraid it might escalate to diverting a percentage of my paycheck to a secret savings account.

Anyone else have to do this or am I the only wimp who has to hide my purchases? :p

Hopefully Mrs. Mcoupe from Chatham, NJ doesn't frequent this board.

Yea mines a keeper too. As long as the bills get paid and she gets her allowance (and then some) I can buy my cigars. I can't go over board and everytime I come home with cigars I have to pick up some wine for her collection. Works out great.

All you lucky ones out there, don't let go of them "keepers"

Told the wife what I wanted for Christmas and she let me order a bunch fuente limited release cigars

The main issue is that I'm the spender and she is the saver. Cigars are only one of my vices.

My girlfriend is awesome. She doesn't care, and will occasionaly buy me a nice expensive cigar or some whiskey  I just make sure that I get her flowers (usually from the grocery store and its whatever ones look nice and are under $5) from time to time, and for no reason. she eats that stuff up :) Shit, I think i might have talked her out of Valentines Day! I think for anyman, thats an accomplishment.

I am in the same boat as you mcoupe. Girlfriend goes nuts when ever I buy or smoke cigars. She hates the health assspects of it and the fact that it's money I can't spend on her. She goes in to these hour long tyraids on how bad it is and wants me to only smoke (like once a month.)

I don't see me stopping any time soon though so she needs to get over this shit. Agh women!!

Ah well that felt good.

GIRLFRIEND?!? Well, that means you can trade her in and get a new one and it wouldn't me that expensive. It's us married folk that would really be in trouble. Of course, I'm just kidding (I think).

You should read the article to her about how casual cigar smokers and pipe smokers live an average of 2.9 years longer than our non-smoking counterparts. Then promise you won't ash on her grave!

For the price of a box of Cohiba Siglo VI, you can get a divorce. Of course the wife/husband might get half of everything.
