So a couple weeks ago I ordered some priority shipping boxes online. You know, go to USPS.com, select the boxes and they ship them to you free of charge, heck, they don't even charge for shipping. So today when I get to the Post Office, Rebecca the nice young lady behind the counter asks me if I brought my truck. Being winter in WI, of course I said yes, she says good, these are all yours.

Looking at the stack like I just saw the second coming of Christ, my mind starts to wonder what the hell could possibly be in all those boxes. As I drive my truck to the back of the Post Office...because these aren't going through the window, I notice that they're the boxes I ordered on line! Now I ordered 50 of the VHS size boxes and 25 of the larger square boxes for cigar box clocks. So you can understand my surprise when I see 500 VHS size boxes and 250 larger square boxes! Worst part is, the PO won't take them back. So now I'm stuck with 750 freakin' Priority Mail boxes. Guess it's time to start bombing!

For a moment there I thought you ordered these for fun. Some people do it, and I think they are idiots. I'm glad to see it was a mistake.

Oh hell no! As a matter of fact, if you look online it says the max amount is 20, but then they offer a bundle of 25, so I asked for one bundle of the large and 2 bundles of the smaller ones. Thinking I'd only get one bundle of each, but I thought I'd try. OMG, no idea what to do with these boxes!

If only Holts would make the same mistake with the Carlito's Way sampler. I'd love to see that picture.

The exact same thing happened to me. I just talked to my local post office and refused what I did not want. Bring them back to the post office.

Why did they ship them to your local post office instead of your home address and why on earth did you agree to take them when you didn't order them?

Every time I have ordered Priority Mail boxes on line, they are delivered to my home address. Last time they came UPS.

I agree with JimD., you should bring them back to the post office.

Not sure why they came to the PO, but I'm assuming they would've come to my home at the end of the day. I go to the PO each morning to send/rcv parcels, and then they deliver the mail to our home in the afternoon. Being as I was there in the morning, they asked me to take them. No problems, I'll bring a bunch of them back later next week when they slow down a bit.

I never knew you could order those online. If you go to my local PO they charge for every box, cheapest one is $1.25, have I been getting ripped off?

The priority mail boxes are free. If there're charging you contact a Postal Inspector.

Doc.

My local post office has the priority boxes for free (you have to order the VHS size boxes now, they don't stock them), but they also sell other boxes that are not necessarily "priority" boxes, just plain old boxes which can be used for regular mail.

I think you can make birdhouses out of 'em - and sell 'em for $20-30 each!!!

Hey, CC - don't steal my idea - ya hear!!!

Idiots! They just took eight days to deliver my Priority Mail Secret Santa package! Morons! Imbeciles!
