Went to grab a cheap smoke out of the humi, and wouldnt you know it!! Fuggin Beatle mania! I am hoping that they ate it before I put it in the humi. They were cheap Felipe Fumas I got a couple years ago free from Thompsons, and they were kept in the cello, and only together in either a ziploc bag or a box on their own. Lowered the temp in the winecoolerdor to 60F, and checked all my other sticks tonight. Three of the same sticks had damage, but nothing else!! Thankfully!!

Hopefully it was to just them! Needlsess to say, the rest of the same sticks were round filed this evening.

Fuggin Beatles!!

Sorry to hear about the beatles.

I've only had them twice. The first time was very early on in my smoking, I had a bundle of unbanded sticks in my humidor went out of town and when I got back I found a disaster in my humidor, funny thing was my temp. and humidity were fine. The second time I had ordered a mixed sampler, I kept them in a spare humidor and left them all in their celo. After awhile I had found one of the sticks was eaten up pretty bad and a few others had beatles in them. I threw away all of the ones with any signs of beatle.

I've been fortunate enough to not have seen them since.

Man these stories scare the crap out of me. I have nightmares that I will leave for a trip only to come home and find a beetle farm has hatched in one of the humis. Sorry to hear it hit you, and like Wyatt said, keep a close eye out for others.

I'm on gaurd at the moment! Lowered the temp to help out hopefully, and checked all of my other sticks last night. All of the infected ones were tossed, as well as all of their brothers. Hopefully I got them all.

I had the same scare last year in the summer, bought a cheapo bundle from a local B&M and had beatles in that bunch. Chucked that box I had put them in and carefully monitored the rest of the humi, and I caught it early enough that there was never another problem.

I feel for you though, the anxiety it created was excruciating!

Had to freeze my whole stash once. That sucked big time. Keep an eye on things, might be better head for the freezer and be safe instead of sorry.

That sucks!

Watch 'em close and don't hesitate to freeze your stash if you haven't successfully contained the bugs yet. There's plenty of guides on how to freeze and revive your sticks around.

I wouldn't expect anything less from Thompson sticks, though. Turds usually attract flies.....

Ugh...that makes me check my humi every time...and unfortunately, my father-n-law just gifted me 50 Thompsons. They make a nice filler to stabilize the humi environment! What was your temp at?

I was keeping my temp at 67F, RH at 65-70%. What I really think was they were like that when I got them, and I didnt notice. I usually take all the cello off and check everything, but not this time for these. So four of the one's that were left were bad. It could be I didnt catch them, or they woke up at 67F. Now its at 60F, and I am monitoring them religiously.

Update on the Beetle infestation. It has been about 6 weeks and it looks like I got it contained and all is well for now. Still watching everything closely, but seems to be good! I have kept the temp as close to 60F as possible, and the RH at 65%.
