OK boys and girls, I'm willing to put my cigars where my mouth is regarding my team.

This bet is straight up, no points!

I'm picking Baltimore to win.

Any takers?

Well - I think you are on the right side of this one - I look for Baltimore to control the game on both sides of the ball. That said, I have not picked a winner in forever. I do think any bet should include the point spread. :sign:

I am a huge colts fan, but i dont trust them enough to win, and there is a 4 point spread that i would get betting cash that i wouldnt be getting here :)...GL finding action.

"Huge colts fan" and "I don't trust them enough to win" shouldn't be in the same sentence. If you are a huge fan, you should have faith enough to believe that your team can win. Points spreads don't get you to the AFC Championship...an outright win does.

Colts !! Vinatieri with a FG for the win.!

Whats your definition of premium? if we are in agreement than Ill take the bet.

Ill put up

Looks like we have a bet.

Sort of scared.. I keep remembering the Ravens VS Steelers game... The unrelenting pressure that the Ravens D put up against Uselessberger was quite intimidating. It was a non stop onslaught of Blitzes and different defensive formations!

But its going to be fun watching Manning..call all his plays at the line and than audbile into something else and totally wreck havoc on the the Ravens D.

Does anyone know is CBS is carrying the game. They have the best on field audio!

granted...but there is a differnce between rooting, and betting :) ... I am glad you found someone to bet with, GL

If i remember correctly the game IS on CBS.

Yes, the game is on CBS. It's going to be as loud as it's ever been at M&T Bank stadium. I'm not sure Manning will have the luxury of audibling at the line.

To the victor goes the spoils!!!

It amazes me that so many people here take these type of bets without using the line.

BRitz - where'd you get that avatar?

As a loyal Patriots fan since about 1977-1978 time frame (I was only 7 years old and I went to see my 1st game with my dad), I for one think that the above wager is pointless in all aspects, because yet again, beyond the shadow of ANY doubt, the Patriots will be world champions at the end of the Super Bowl game. :D

So any wager that anyone bets on besides the final score of the Super Bowl is a moot point.

And yes I take a LOT of flack for being a fan of New England and now living in Maryland just 30 minutes outside Baltimore.

But I just smile and count the title banners in Gillette Stadium (the Razor....cool nickname for a place) While all the Raven's fans stare at the lone banner flapping in the breeze at M&T Bank stadium (I think that's the neam....never really paid close attention to it) from their fluke Super Bowl season back in 2000. :p

PS:
It really feels good to be able to talk smack about your team after so many DISMAL seasons and still sticking by them through it all.

GO PATRIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah....sorry about the thread hijack ;)

Bombtek, since you first jacked the thread, I think the Pats will have their hands full this weekend getting past the Chargers. :whistling:

Yeah well I have to give it to ya if your a true fan. But at least your not like one of those idiots who suddenly started wearing Steelers gear walking around Bel Air. They just came out of the woodwork after last year and noy they have Ravens flags on their SUVs. And yes the Pats will have their hands full this weekeng with the Chargers.

Bears fan here..

But luv the Patriots and the Colts.!!

Chargers...ehhhhh....Ravens....ehhhh.. Seahawks..ehhhh...
N.O....exciting...but cant bring myself to root for them ...

Nah .....I haven't any fear aout the Chargers. The Bolts QB Rivers just will not be able to handle the defensive schemes that will be brought against him. Other than Antonio Gates, there really is no threat of a ball being thrown and caught. The 3-4 defense that the Pats employ (and all of their intricate variations) will be able to not only frustrate Rivers to the point of him being ineffective, it also will contain (not stop.....I don't believe that anyone can stop) Ladanian Tomlinson.

This is the Patriots time of year and I truly do feel for any team that has to face them .....yes they played poorly against Denver last year and there are no excuses for the execution of their playmaking (lack of rather). They tasted defeat in the playoffs last year and it was a flavor that did not sit well in their stomachs. It will not happen again this year.

I really feel that the organization is more than just a franchise. It functions as a machine. I have never seen another team out there that was able to pick a man off the roster, and put him onto the field, and have him function with major contributions as well as the Patriots do it.

Ok enough glorifying (sp?) from me. The Patriots will win everything again this year, of that I have no doubt.

In any case....best of luck to all of the others until the Super Bowl.

:D
