GM's Robot "Suicide" Ad

I thought it was a pretty bad commercial, but not because of the "suicide". I just thought it was pretty stupid for a company that continually struggles with their quality image to show that their robots don't even work correctly...
lol... seriously? Quality was the point of the commercial. You drop a screw, you get fired, basically, because quality is that important.

Not saying I agree or disagree... just that it's the point of the commercial. :)

They pulled this one and the Snickers one, which was damn funny.

Fuggin' people.

Did they die?

Did the robot? I can't remember exactly, but wasn't the whole thing a dream? (I'm seriously asking, not trying to stir the pot.)

That is a very strong point you are making. With a level playing field, the commercial might have been thought creative, but you are correct in terms of what it may be saying about GM. My 0.02

I really was joking. I forgot to add the smiley. :)

I understood the point they were trying to make, it just struck me that it could have been made in a better way. I don't know how, but I guess that's why I don't work in advertising. :D

If I were spending $2.5 million on a commercial (or however much it was), I'd sure as hell put my company in the most positive light possible and do it in the clearest way possible.

I've got nothing against GM, I have a chevy and have had other GM products. I just thought it was a bad commercial.

I didn't mind the Robot at all, but saw right away that some organization was going to be all up in arms about it.

The only ad I really liked was the Carne Asada Lions.

The Snickers ad was just in bad taste, the g-ddamn candy bar looks like a turd to start with.

Really . . . come on! What is so offensive about two guys chewinfg on either end of a turd and meeting in the middle with a kiss? :sign:
