I have an un-opened "streetcar" of Ezra Brooks whiskey. It was gifted to me about ten years ago.It is a street car with the words Powell and Hyde Sts. above it.The date on the bottom is 1968 and the whiskey is aged 12 years. The tax seal is un-broken.Any idea of the worth? Is it any good?Should I drink it?
Thanks,John

Spirits don't continue to age once they are bottled. There is probably some evaporation loss but it should be the same as when it was bottled and fine to drink unless the cork went bad. No way to tell that without taking a pour.

Some people collect decanters but I have no idea if this particular one is worth anything, you have to watch ebay to get a feel for that.

Thanks AVB. Mine looks like the second one but it still has whiskey in it.I wonder if it tastes any good.Maybe when my JWB is empty I'll open the Ezra and let everyone know how it is.

As I said, unless the cork went bad it should taste just fine and maybe even better then today's product. Maybe you want to get a bottle of the current Ezra Brooks 12 (about $25) and do a comparison for us.

I wonder if it tastes any good.
