So I open my browser and Firefox says there's an update, so I download and install it. Immediatly after doing so I get the following message when I try to go to Gmail:

Our system indicates unusual usage of your account. In order to protect Gmail users from potentially harmful use of Gmail, this account has been disabled for up to 24 hours.

"If you are using any third party software that interacts with your Gmail account, please disable it or adjust it so that its use complies with the Gmail Terms of Use. If you feel that you have been using your Gmail account according to the Terms of Use or otherwise normally, please contact us using this form to report this problem."

Anybody else get anything like this?

No, but I did get a similar message from my wife...

The bank manager indicates unusual usage of your bank account to purchase cigars. In order to protect our family from potentially harmful use of your bank account, I instructed the bank manager to disabled the account for up to 24 hours so I can discuss this issue with you.

"If you are using any third party credit cards that interacts with your main banking account, please disable it or adjust it so that its use complies with the banks Terms of Use. If you feel that you have been using your credit card accounts according to the Terms of Use or otherwise normally, please put it in writing on this form, then buy me something nice equivalent to or better than the amount you spend on cigars and this problem will go away."

Its a phishing email. If you kept it, check the link to the report form. If you had put your account info in it, the bad guys would have used it to sent a few hundred thousand spammos out.

It wasn't an e-mail, but rather the page that came up instead of my inbox. Either way it's gone now, so life's good again.
