I'm trying to us a bulk emailing program for the winery and am having problems getting beyond the firewall. Does anybody have any ideas how to fix this?

Oh no, not another spammer in the making. :sign:

A little more info would help.

What program are you using for the email?

Is it a software or hardware firewall?

The program is Glock EasyMail

Not sure what's blocking it but tried to remove Norton Firewall but it didn't help.

Edit: LOL ..... not spam but for our mailing list customers

It may be a hardware firewall issue...OR...your ISP does not allow those programs to work on it's network (that would be a block on their firewall).

Do you have a router? Can the program get through that?
Where is the send failing?

IT could be the virus protection software.

I had a issue of the same sort. Needed to connect remotely through a Citrix connection. The connection kept failing.

Problem was my Linksys wired router was blocking me. I had to add the service to to the firewall settings to allow the connection.

I tried looking at the setup for my new wireless router, but I can't find that feature.

We first thought it was the ISP not allowing it Gary, I think that path was already investigated, but I'll check again to make sure.

A Citrex connection? I'll have to do some reading on that one but I'll check it out.

We'll also check out the Linksys firewall settings as well, thanks.

Does it give an error message?

Does the program attempt to connect to a mail server? We do mass emailings where I work, but our software is different. Sounds like it is probably a port or connection being blocked somewhere.
