Who Here has Held the Rank of E-7

There was an outstanding CSM I met and he had a great name. He was the Commandant of the CSM Academy of the 10th Mountain Division. His name was CSM Battle. He is a hell of a soldier. :thumbs: He may be retired by now.
 
I missed this earlier. I put on the Anchors Dec1, 06. Member of the last Chief's Initiation for the Mobile AL Chief's Mess. The Master Chief of the Coast Gaurd is changing the direction of the Initiation. It will now be Cgief's Call to Indoctrination. Most of it will be the same, but a good portion of, errr, "character building" will be no longer. Does the Marine Corps, Army, and Air Force have an organized Initiation they go through?

The Corps has Blood Stripes when you make E4, pin-ons for all enlisted ranks (or used to) and a big party at the Staff NCO club for E6 on up.

Well, just made E-6, Staff Sergeant in the Army. Pinned in November of 06, here in the sandbox. I was a e-5 from Sept of 2000, until I got promoted, but always worked in an E6 slot. I think in those 7 years, I have 2 Evaluations as an E5, the rest are as an E5 filling an E6 position, great from my look at E7 which should be around 2009. I put everything had into my soldiers, they were my life blood, my children, same now, but as a squad leader I get to mentor other NCOs, and help them see that building up a soldier is one of the most rewarding things in the Army.

Emo the AF has a Chief's induction ceremony fro E-9. For E-7 and E-8 there is a SNCO script that is read for those promotions.
 
Very timely bump. I did, in fact, find out that I was selected for E-7. Everyone who has held the rank and responded up to this point, and whose address is available will recieve a little gift. It will take some time, though--first, it'll have to wait until I'm out of Iraq. Second, it's not going to be cheap, so I'll have to spread it out a little. I should have it all wrapped up by the time I actually pin it on next year. :D
