San Diego does have a MFM Fellowship program, and coincidentally we'll be there first week in May, perhaps it's worth a visit! Hmmmm...
But can we afford a house anywhere around SD? That is, one with all the walls, doors and windows intact?
It's all relative Andy. Salary should be higher in SoCal (talking without experience), so houses are more expensive.
I guess that's the price you pay for better weather.
Colorado is no winner, unless you move out in winter.
I say, if you are going to move, go for year round weather or...
as Sam says, move to Arizona, most definitely cheaper than CA, just a lot hotter in summer.
