There are programs for some of the newer laptops that'll do that. Newer laptops have accelerameters in them to detect when they are falling and shut down the hard drive. People have written drivers for them that interact with the devices and either make light saber sounds, for example, or set off an alarm if your laptop is moved. So you can go grab a cup of coffee and be assured your "alarm" will go off when someone snaggs your laptop... or bumps your table...

engaget has been talking the iphone to death, they revealed the plans early last week. the real question is how much will the phone actually cost, and is the at&t service in your area decent. I know at one point at&t around here you call began and ended with "hello?". now that they are merged with cingular, i hear service in the northeast is pretty good.

I know that at my place sometimes there is cellular service but mostly you have to go a mile up the road to be sure you have signal.
