Has anyone ever sent a lighter back to Colibri for service?

Did they charge you? Was it worth it?

I have to send mine in becuase it doesn"t light anymore.

What have you done to clean it?

I sent my Dupont into them...not a problem.

so far I've filled and bled the tank, then refilled. That didn't help, so I'm gonna try to blow it out with compressed air. But I have to go buy a can first because I can't find the one that should be around here somewhere.

Q-tip or rag with a little rubbing achohol on it...clear off the jets...just a LITTLE!

Then wipe clean...at leat that worked once on a lighter of mine.

Does the lighter fuel work in another lighter? Is the fuel old or new?

brand new fuel. haha, that was the first thing I thought of and bought a new can. I'll try cleaning the jet with alcohol, but it doesn't look dirty.

I've had terrible luck with the Colibri lighters. I sent one back once. That experience actually wasn't bad. The age of the lighter and proof of purch should determine the charge.

However, I've had others and I've spoken with many who have had trouble with their lighters. Some return them, some don't. Reliability seems to be a problem throughout their line. I just won't buy anymore Colibri lighters.

Wifey bought me a nice Xicar double flame torch for my B-day this year. Very nice!!

:)

Anyone want to recommend another lighter under $50 with a built in cutter if I can't get this one working? :)

A Blazer lighter and a long line of cheap cutters until you get another $50 for the Palio.

Yeah, I have some cheap cutters and I just picked up a cheap torch lighter for now. The cutter lighter combo is nice so I don't have to carry two things in my pocket. :(
