I recently did a trade with a CP member for some Cigars I have never seen or tried, so have been waiting with baited breath for their arrival, and waiting and waiting....... :angry:

They turned up at my favorite Aussie customs depot yesterday, and I am now in the process of having them released to me....

So I thought seeing as how I had a tracking number on the customs invoice I would do a quick inquiry as to why they have taken so long to get here. And lo and behold it appears they have been sitting either at the post office where they were sent from, or at a USPS depot somewhere overseas.

Thanks for getting them to me in record time USPS. I really appreciate that they only took 22 days from posting to arrive to Aussie.


What is the problem with these postal departments. And I do not just mean USPS, it is also a major problem with Aussie Post. I do not understand why when something like this happens there never seems to be anybody held accountable for "losing" packages.

In my line of work if I stuff up I am held accountable for my mistake. Why is this not so for Postal workers?????

I also must add: The record time for a package to arrive from the US is 4 days . The longest time is 22 days.

I feel your frustration, now add to that, for me once it leaves the USPS it goes into the fine hands of the Army Postal system, which we all know is made up of fine motivated 20somthings soldiers. After it finally gets delivered to my location, I have to wait and beg the "Mail Handler" to find time in his super busy schedule of Madden 2007, and bootleg movies to go and pick up the mail. You see, unless you have a laminated plastic card you are not qualified to pick your mail, let alone the mail for the rest of the soldiers. And if it hot outside, which we know never happens in Baghdad in July, then I have to fight my way through another excuse.

All this usually takes about 10 days from the post mark, but it has taken, well I am in month 6 of this deployment and I am still waiting on a few letters from home that were sent in October/November.....and with no tracking system in place for the Army Post, all I now is that I was handed off by the USPS to Military.......

The best thing is sending a package of cigars express for close to 70 dollars extra (yes the German post office is that expensive) and having them go missing for over a month before being delivered.

So yeah post offices in general are a pain in the ass, but if you think of the shear amount of mail that goes in and out every day, its a wonder that its not even more screwed up.

I know all about the ones that get away....
My first order from viper was lost forever in the black hole we call the post office. Thankfully he was good enough to replace the package without question.
It certainly makes me think twice about sending or purchasing an expensive item.
