By the way I got a letter back from Roger Goodell when I wrote him a letter about punishing Vick. He sounded serious and included a statement from the ASPCA.

Worst starting quarterback in the NFL if you ask me anyway. This is great news for Falcons fans IMO.
 
Serves him right...I enjoy the company of two pit bulls in my life. The thought of them being used in that maner sickens me.
 
The most sickening thing is the manner in which Vick allegedly disposed of the dogs that were not performing to his "standards":hanging, drowning, and repeated slamming to the ground. :angry:

Good for him. I hope that whoever prosecutes makes it stick. To many times, celebrities/ athletes get off the frickin hook because of who they are , who they know and/ or their financial status . OJ Simpson comes to mind..
 
Ian...you're efforts regarding Vick have made me rethink sending letters to express my feelings. I used to think my opinon didn't matter, or wasn't influential enough to make something happen.

I'm not suggesting that Goodell acted because of you, but it's refreshing to know that the "right" thing can happen to millionaires in a sport that generates billions of dollars (and in part due to the bad actor).

I try to generally avoid reading the news etc because 99% of the time its just shit I don't want to read anyways. WIth all the ugly that is going on in our world today, I wish they would just leave the dogs out of it.

I hope he gets the maximum sentance.
 
I don't think we have to worry about this guy getting the celebrity treatment by the Feds. They have a 95% conviction rate when they get an indictment, which means they won't take something like this to a grand jury unless they feel very strongly that they will get a conviction. I think Vick is in trouble!!!
 
Just wrote an email to Nike. Basically said there would be never be another Nike product purchased in my househld until they drop that dirtbag, Michael Vick.

His lawyers are going to have to come with some fantastic evidence to prove he wasnt involved.
 
Commissioner says that Vick is not a repeat offender, so he won't be severely penalized. Whatever that means. :0
 
The fact of the matter is a Federal Grand Jury reviewed the evidence and pointed their finger at Vick. Roger Goodell gave him an opportunity to fess up to the allegations before the recent draft. Vick denied he had any knowledge of what happened at the house and said he had not been there since 2001. Now evidence shows he has been there and in one way or another is connected. It's now a question of how close he was connected. He lied to The Comish, now he's indicted with Federal Felony charges.


Suspend him until the completion of the trial. I'm satisfied with that.

You are correct, nobody has been convicted. The indictment is pretty detailed about the evidence, however. Just the fact that he owned the property and the kennel (pretty indisputable) is enough for me to justify calling him a complete pile of crap. I don't think any reasonable person could honestly believe he had no idea what was going on.

Being involved with a dogfighting ring in ANY capacity is absolutely reprehensible, I don't care who the person is.

Very true. Two other points worth mentioning: 95% of that 95% conviction rate is through plea agreements. Doubtful that an ego maniac like Vick would plea, especially when the bloodsuckers who make $2500 an hour come out to defend him. Secondly, if convicted, federal sentencing guidelines are far higher than state/county.

Vic was on NPR this morning, "Michael Vick's reputation hasn't been tarnished, everywhere I go Michael Vick is just a man who has a job. And that job is to win football games." He was then asked a more direct question about his involvement, to which his tone changed, "No comment."

I love the 3rd person routine, and I'd love to see Michael Vick in this year's Super Bowl. Center stage at that. Dropped into a 10,000 gallon aqaurium filled with piranha.
 
I hope his ass gets thown in jail. Any word from the NFL yet on suspension? I guess if Vick is making license plates he cant play football.
 
I don't care whether he's been convicted yet or not. Michael Vick has proved time and time again that he is irresponsible and makes horrible moral decisions. Whether he actually gets convicted or not he's guilty of being a T-H-U-G.

He doesn't have to be guilty in a court of law in order for me to tell Nike that they have a piece of trash as an endorser.
