Anyone else here have a pet in their life that is close to their heart? I thought it would be fun to share some pics of our beloved pets.

I'll get us started...

This is Morgan. She is a 125lb. pure chocolate lab. People are stunned when they see how big she is. Although her size is intimidating, she is a total softie. This dog is afraid of her own shadow!

Anyway, post some pics of your pets...

Kumba is a black Belgian Malinois mutt mix rescued from our local humane society. Here he is being good:

...and here he is being BAD, busted by the wireless video camera I was messing around with (we were at work, so Kumba decided he could go up on the couch... by my wife busted his ass!):

Oh yeah, and the fury rodents who puke on everything:

Bailey is a yellow rab / golden retriever mix who always has to have a stick in his mouth...

He has a bit of a drinking and gambling problem too. Intervention attempts didn't work, but one day he finally realized what his problems were doing to the people he loved and so he stopped

Luckily he settled down now that he's closing in on 6 years old. Now he's working part-time as a security guard at my humidor. He's in danger of losing his job because I caught him sleeping one day and even snapped a photo as proof, but at least he's off the sauce.

Oh yeah and I wanted to make her my pet at Road Atlanta but she shot down my requests... :(

Here are my 2 Boston Terriers. Stubborn little bastards and their farts stink worse than mine! Didn't think that was possible...

Here is my pet. He trashes my house, freakin shits everywhere...

Here I'm letting him out to go to the bathroom.

Very quick short story I'd like to share.

I lived for 3 years in Kenya while working as a Peace Corps Volunteer. I was accompanied one afternoon to the post office by a Maasai lady I worked with. I had received a letter from one of my aunts and my friend insisted I open it and read it to her. Along with the letter, my aunt had enclosed 3 or 4 pics. Each pic was a shot of one of her dogs or cats. My friend's jaw dropped. She could not possibly imagine someone taking the time to send such a thing. The only pictures she had ever seen shared were of other people or of animals in the Maasai Mara, a game park that was nearby.

It was one of those cultural moments I won't soon forget. We Americans really do admire and pamper our pets. In other places, animals like dogs are strictly kept for security purposes.

That's it.

Awesome thread!!!
Since my house and property are too danb small for a chocolate lab... I'm stuck with these two balls of fur!!! ;)

Calvin, and Princess...

At first I wasn't really thrilled about getting a cat... But now, I wouldn't have it any other way!!!

LOL!!!!! Great photos folks. I hope everyone is enjoying them as much as I am!

Here is another one that I dug up. This is my little nephiew inspecting Morgan's paw with his finger. Notice that by this point Anthony has wore her ass out!

Here's my little mutt, Maggie. Part golden retriever and part... something else. Maybe border collie or something like that. She likes herding the kids when they run around. :)

Cheers to the pet owners out there - B.B.S.

This is Zane, our new English Springer Spaniel, he is about 12 wks old now and getting into puppy trouble. Tough to get mad at a little guy like this with those eyes.

In case you want to find out... the Canine Heritage Breed Test is very easy to do; $60, they send you a swab that you use on the inside of your dog's mouth, and then you send it back off, and wait 3-4 weeks.

The downside of this test is that they have only cataloged 38 common US breeds.

Mars Wisdom Panel MX Mixed Breed Analysis test covers 130+ breeds, so it is much more comprehensive, but it requires a blood test done by your veterinarian. It also is not available until September of this year, and likely will cost more (prices are set by your veterinarian, though); see their FAQ for details.

We did the Canine Heritage Breed Test on Kumba, and helped us identify him as primarily Belgian Black Malinois... tho he's still a mutt. :)

My two boys:

MacArthur and Caesar (in order)

My two girls:

HPIM0133.jpg

Lizzy and Roxy in order.

And I have a 75gal freshwater fish tank but I can't ever get a good pic of it.

I'm about to get two more dogs, a 35lb jack russell (actually pure bred) and a dalmation. Kind of rescuing them from a bad owner.

I'm an insane person, but an animal lover. I have to stop my car on the road to help F'ing turtles off the road. There's something wrong with me.

EDIT: all my animals with the exception of the fish are rescues.
