The LEAF FUND

Well That TRR trash stock was a lousy buy!

We got out at $4.54 this morning. I expected it might go up as soon as I sold ( par for the course ), but it has dropped another .37 since... so looks like I saved us a little money. That sh!t cost us dearly though. DAMIT!

Fast Money's K FINE had a trade for Wednesday! A Tobacco stock AOI. So what the hell... 100 shares @ 5.92.

We have 646.02 left in cash. PLEASE... someone do some homework and get us some profits!

Oil stocks should start selling off now. So I think unless it maintenance or transports we might want to stay away until the profits are taken. But what the hell do I know.

CPSL looks good (chinese steel)

CHRT (Charter communicatons)

KONG (Chinese wireless)
 
I think you are doing a fine job!!

I have done homework on CPSL! I think we have hit the bottom and will move up from here!! As far as oil goes I think it is going to take off again. If it does we might be able to make some fast cash with LEI, they just reported their reserves and they look good. Anyways, i will search some more stocks tonight. I have been really busy with the CNBC Milloin Dollar Portfolio Challenge :laugh: :whistling:
 
Well LEI @ 5.37 came down quite a bit (6.16) yesterday! If it consolidates the rest of the week it might make another run. The Oil and Gas play I like is ROYL @ 5.44 ( ONLY IF OIL STARTS UP).

AKNS @ 6.97 should thrust upward after some profit taking today since the green stocks are the trend. We'd have to sell something to get in this one though. DAMMIT!!!

And for the speculative play of the day would be FRPT @ 3.70.

CPSL still looks like a great steel play @ 6.00!
 
I agree on LEI, I think it will come down agian today. Once oil goes back up, this baby will take off!! I still like CPSL too, I think it is setting up for a run. We need the other partners to have some input. I am not suggesting day trading, but I think in order to make money we need to get into stocks and out. This we will refer to as week trading :laugh: . Anyways, I have had to much coffee!!!!
 
I'm watching the crude price go up .30 in the last minute. This will be good for the oil stocks. I looked at LEI. It's analyst target price for 1yr. is 4.70. So I'm thinking this stock will start underperforming compared to some of the others. I went through a few stocks that we could get into and here are the results in preference order:

FXEN

ABP

ROYL

LEI

I really wish we could get into AKNS but we'd have to buy less than 100 shares. Oil is going up... so the solars will too. If it changes directions mid-day... AKNS will reverse. I don't see this as it's the last trading day of the month. Oil goes over $130


I'm tempted to buy us FRPT. It should go up 1.00 over the next 10-14 days by my calculations.

Hey Partners, what in the hell is going on here!!!!! I feel like there are four people who are giving input and the rest don't care, which is fine. But I think we need to figure out how we are going to go about picking stocks if no one is going to vote! Michael has posted a bunch of stocks and no one has had anything to say! anyways lets get some thing going.
 
WEL = BOOTS & COOTS INTERNATIONAL WELL CONTROL INC.

We bought 100 shares for 1.89 a share 4-08-08. Commission 9.99. When we sell, add $10.00 in commissions.
It'll takes 2.0899 a share to break even. Stock sits at 2.15 as of market close Friday 5-30-08. That's 8.05% profit.
Since 5-08-08 there has been over 1,350,000 shares bought by insiders at an average share price of 2.136

So here's the $10,000 questions.

1) What would you figure our exit price to be at?
1a) also how long for our length of commitment? (My calcs. are to sell into the strength above 2.60 and hold no longer than August of '08).

2) Should we buy more if it dips? ( It would have to dip to 1.98 to keep the 2.0899 break even stratagey [below = better/above = worse).

PS. When I bought this stock and checked it's balance sheet, I saw a $5 stock within 90 days. That's why I'm a breadman. :sign:

I received only 1 comment on the thread and 0 emails last week with ideas (At least nobody called for my head). Are you all mad about ZAAP?Are you all mad about TRR? Are you all just mad period? It makes it very difficult to play without support. Because I feel so awful when we lose on my picks. 3 small winners and 1 big loser put us almost dead even for the month. &#%$

Any sector hunches? How about wind? How aboutTech?

I can only speak for myself but when I elected to come into this group I gave you proxy to vote my shares however you saw fit. I stand by that decision. Nobody here can day trade (or weekly trade) and pick winners everytime. If thats the expectation of some then they should not be in this game or offer up their own picks. My expectation is that we will win some and lose some and with a little luck maybe hit a few big winners. If not, I don't think I'll lose sleep over it. I think most of us spend more on one night out on the town then we have invested in this so no biggie to me.

I think you are doing fine and unless someone else is willing to show their speculations are any better just continue with what you are doing.

I did throw one up back in April... JYHW. I personally bought into them back around the end of March or first of April for just under $2. Its been close to $2.50 several times in the last month but I'm speculating its going way beyond that through the summer and fall. My opinion/speculation is about as good as a pull on a slot machine so you've been warned. :cool:

Can I ask my fellow Leaf Fund partners to please consider if what you are emailing is of concern to the group when replying back to everyone on the mailing list. I really don't need a dozen emails flooding my mailbox for trivial "you're doing a good job keep it up". A post here works great for that kind of communication.
